That's good enough for me, but how long will you be gone for?
I WOULD'VE gotten a gaming laptop to have me be able to record videos if I didn't find OBS Studio, which was free AND so much faster to use than the other one I was thinking of getting probably would ever be.
So far, I found that only one cutscene crashes the game constantly, and that is the third cutscene in Rites of Passage (between first wall climb and Musical Chairs). Although sometimes a cutscene will randomly crash the game when trying to skip it (I had that happen twice, once with the balance beam tutorial in Fix the Plane, and once with the final cutscene in Fix the Plane).
Heck, I just tried a full-game run (not recorded), and even THAT cutscene didn't crash! I don't know why it did that to begin with now...
I wasn't really planning on Xbox 360 version, though, but hey, if you use the same movement you used for the current saved world record, then we can test out the different versions' speeds, see if it matters a whole lot.
By the way, I JUST got an Xbox 360 controller, and I tried the cutscenes, but it still couldn't skip certain cutscenes in the game. I'm trying to get the game installed on a different computer, but I need a LOT of time to do this right now.
Okay, I'll reinstall it on my laptop one more time and see if the problem still persists. If it does, I need to see what makes you able to skip cutscenes.
You know what? I wish I had this game! I might try some ILs with it, since I don't have a means of recording full-game runs on my TV (no capture card).
Alright, well that's great! I wouldn't rush you, though.
Also, I'm fairly certain that the jump would not be shorter on the Wii version. That just seems unlikely. I will have to test it out when I play the Wii version, which I will do shortly. If you're saying that you missed that hard skip in Welcome to Africa, I HAVE gotten it on WIi version (heck, it was the version I found it on since when I first played PC version, my computer had some problem with the game).
Well, I'll have to look deep into this, because it is REALLY hard, almost impossible. I will look into that possible jump height difference on zip vines.
Okay, it's NOT that the jumps are SHORTER, but that the jumps move SLOWER. It's possible, just EXTREMELY difficult and precise.
You should have internet and should be able to reach 2.0.0 easily. I'm afraid it will not allow you to just play the game with up to a certain patch (like 1.3.0 or something along those lines).
I don't know when they started to patch out skips and stuff like that, but currently the World Record uses update 2.0.0, so either just stick with 1.0.0 or go up to 2.0.0.
Alright, awesome! Thanks for responding! I will have to get a controller a bit later, though, because I have to wait a while since I have a few camps to go to throughout the next week and then most of the next month. But I will more than likely get a controller there as well.
Have you seen any gameplay of Mater-National or my channel where I made a speedrun of the game? If not, then I would recommend seeing the game first before you consider trying it out.
Hey DreamSeeker, I was going to do a run of this game soon to get it up here, but I guess you didn't see that message on the Cars series forum in time? Oh well, either way can you please make me a moderator? I want to make sure that this game doesn't just go away since after the game has been on the site for a week with no progress on it it will disappear, and it doesn't look like you're having a lot of time to make progress on it.
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know that I will more than likely record a level run in Cars 3: Driven to Win to get a leaderboard up for the game as well as add it to this series, so don't worry about getting a video immediately.
You might try to see if other people have played it on PS4. I don't know how hard it would be to find that, though.
Here's the list:
- That's a Loot of Fruit
- Say Cheese!
- This is a Steakout!
- Dirty Dish Fright
- Desserted Wonderland
- Pasta Persuasion
- Veggie Vault
- Sausage Shenanigan
- Soaring Strawberries
- Kitchen Chaos
I will probably do ILs with these as well, in addition to the slides.
Hey guys, I wanted to discuss something I found over on the Pikmin Wikia. Apparently, there is a glitch that allows a day to go on for as long as you like. If you switch captains on the last frame of the day, it apparently will cause the day to not end until you switch back to the original captain the day was supposed to end with. I don't even know how it works or if there's a way to make it optimal if it does work since it sounds VERY precise, but I still wanted to discuss this with you guys.
It must be my computer, but I can show you a list of the cut scenes that crash when I try to skip them:
- After accepting or denying wanting to watch the penguins fish (Watering Hole)
- Before Musical Chairs (Rites of Passage)
- Before the Obstacle Course (Rites of Passage)
- Before Hot Durian (Rites of Passage)
- Before testing the flying machine (Fix the Plane)
- After the flying machine (Fix the Plane)
- Before rolling the ball of junk (Fix the Plane)
- After rolling the ball of junk (Fix the Plane) The controls I used were the keyboard controls (I don't have any other means of controlling the game as of right now). I'm glad someone besides me is interested in running this game a lot more now! I think that we should work together on this, since you have both the Wii version and the PC version (both of which I own, but I cannot record my TV well enough), so how about we try this: since you want to test out different versions of the game, you try the Wii version and I can try the PC version.
By the way, on the walls in Rites of Passage, did you know you could jump up from certain portions so that you don't have to climb up all the way? I will make a video showcasing these jumps soon.
Also, might you be interested in speed running one of the Cars games?
Hey -Star_Fox-, I was wondering if I could talk with you on speedrunning this game on PC. Right now I am testing out the skips you use, and so far I have come across a couple of cut scenes which crash the game upon trying to skip them. I am seeing if letting them play out will help, but it seems that the PC version acts much differently than the Wii version.
Hey, I wanted to ask if there would be any IL leaderboards for Race-O-Rama, because I wanted to compete a lot in ILs. I can't do full-game, single segment runs because I don't have a good capture card for my TV. However, I will say that I will gladly participate in ILs if you guys make a leaderboard for ILs.
Ah, I see. I guess that it's just RNG? I will watch out for that.
I have tried a minute ago and I did not seem to crash after thirty minutes. I don't know what's different between you guys and me, but I can try to help figure it out.
I would be willing to try soon to see if I have an issue with it then.
I totally would agree with removing mach speed levels from the All Normal Missions category. I loathe them, especially Worst Cave (the WORST offender!). I think just having normal goal ring missions is more than enough. And I haven't played enough to notice an issue with letting it run for about twenty minutes or so.
