Dynamite is an interesting idea, I'm not sure how consistent that will be, though. The fist checkpoint where your brother TPs to you, as far as I'm aware, is the one where you first meet Devlin in the saloon. I actually took advantage of this one in my pending run of Chapter V, feel free to check that one out. For the full game run it's pretty much irrelevant, though, as Thomas is faster than Ray in this mission. I'll upload a run on Thomas shortly.
Sure. On Chapter I utilize Dynamite too. I got close to poc 13:47 i got 13:48 (1 sec from his video that would give me around 13:40 total time) if pat would count it. It's just easy to beat the Chapter I but i didn't utilize the dynamite.
I asked the same question. Mod said that they dont change nothing so they are probably good. But i play safe and play without them or from a new profile. Poc in video got 13:37 and i got like 13:45m 13:47 once (idk why pat evaluates it differently so i would get a little bit ahead prolly but it didn't record time and i feel i can do better) or so i got very close. If you can shoot canon very good too and generally be fast in water or just dont lose ammo when you reach the trenches after the tutorial sequence about covering behind walls you might get even better time. There are two barrels if shoot down at the right time might give you some good path.
Also, after soldier gets killed while are you inside the tent, memorize the snipers position and you can easily get ahead of the record because i tend to forgot these positions as well as poc searched for them.
First time in history
I tested it for a bit, with a little lineup it can be done even faster than on your video. You can drop all the way down without taking any damage. However, as I expected, your progress gets stalled by your brother and his endless battle with the enemies up there. From below it's much harder to dispatch of them quickly and even if you hit the checkpoint, your brother will make no progress. I'll give it some more testing time when I have the time for it myself, if there's any way to rubberband your brother, it will be a nice time save. Have a good day!
Maybe try throwing dynamites and killing enemies first down side and then those up from dynamites or rifle. Then if you will kill them all, dont wait for your brother - GO! Because they forgot to put "Don't leave your brother" hint so he'll teleport after. It will be when you reach the little town with the gun shop that the prompt will eventually appear.
Check out the "Resources" page i uploaded ChromED editor if you want and instruction of how to check custom maps. Btw while in editor press G to not to have Camera Spazms and roam free around.
And if you can trigger this glitch without any hardware problems (like I had, disk stuttered at loading causing this, also disk stuttered while i tried Chapter III it was after i played Chapter III) you'll be basically a god
Also I did find other "Out Of Bounds" glitches on Chapter IV so check them out:
That's true. I actually did once managed to do that. If you have ChromED Editor you can check where are the barriers located in the map. Also idk if Thomas route after windmill falls down is faster, or Ray's faster. I always use Ray because he has two weapons and generally dynamite which can just make things better. Some runs were made before I started using dynamite strats like in Ghost Town or in the pending sub 10 minute run of Chapter IV or the last episode.
Hey there!
I want to present to you possible shortcuts, that might give you some time saves. These are experimental and you should test them by yourselfs!
Chapter V
As I stated before, risky shortcut involving going down on the rafters. By that way you can go to mine crater faster, however you need to help Thomas deal with enemies too in order to progress further, because otherwise Thomas will shoot with them forever.
Chapter IV
There might be a minor shortcuts presented on these GIF's. Involving jumping & climbing, you might bypass some sensors and maybe advance further! Who knows. Do them wisely! Devs forgot to add some barriers there, so its your chance :D
GG poc however i believe you can go under 14 lol
[EDIT] I did 14:02 haha
I think sub 10 is clearly possible (maybe 9:58 minutes even)
Hey there fellas!
I've started to speedrun some individual levels in the game of my childhood: Call of Juarez Bound in Blood. You might see some unusual strats there. I submitted more speedruns that'll appear on "Level" category and I might even do a full run soon! Since there's not too many ppl to challenge I would love more people to discover this very game and let's battle on the times together! I encourage you to do that, because:
- Game story is amazing, and COJ is not that much popular among many people - many ppl just prefer Red Dead Redemption over it, and its the (by far I know) only FPS Wild West Shooter. You can also check out COJ: Gunslinger and Call of Juarez (1st entry of the game, which is more glitchable lol)
- Multiplayer is still kinda active (GameRanger)
- Secrets
This game is mostly "unglitchable" without Debug Mode & Cheats however, you can skip some parts by doing interesting jumps & strats! I've saw other speedruns there and they were mostly weak speedruns or just doing a speedrun for the game to appear here on the website. I would really love to see what you'll come up with, as my times aren't perfect and some of them you can beat easily!
The game is available on Steam, but has some bugs on it like Upside Down menu movies and some glitched missions, however you can buy the game also on CD and GOG version is the most stable version of them all! Idk if various fixes from ModDB work for the Steam version, but you can try for yourself!
I'll try to beat the sh*t out of this time soon, haha. If my disk space allows full 1h of gameplay :D
When did you start the timer? When we got control on the duel? Already beaten btw just need the video lol
