unfortunately I don't know of any "cheap" capture cards. especially for consoles without AVI. Elgato seems to be the most popular/easiest choice. probably going to range from 50-100$+ depending on where you look
you could use a phone camera, laptop, webcam, etc
i think when it was verified, the runner had put the timing in the wrong place, and a moderator had probably accepted it by accident when verifying the hundreds of ils lately. But now it seems the run is in the proper place, where it does not meet the video proof requirement.
It takes it a lot longer to re-time run to make sure they are all accurate. so it would help us verify them faster and make sure the timing is accurate as possible or if we have to double check the final time.
I actually had a very interesting experience running kid mode. It's a great difficulty to run actually. it's a very disciplining category. every mistake you make is granted to lose a lot of time. (eg. dying, you have to watch the stage cutscene again.) but for learning most of the advanced strategies is helpful because you are more at risk of losing time on failing stuff in kid mode as opposed to Any%. that being said, any% is by far the best category. it's balanced, bosses are balanced to kill quickly (assuming good RNG for some) and there's more skips available in easy than kid mode. (eg: kid mode has gates blocking the wrong exits for the maze in the sewer, but in any% you actually go the wrong way to do a clip that skips the crawl.) and more. it's very interesting. but i wouldn't run it for too long. (its very very rewarding to get an optimized time though.
is there a document or pastebin of the current route? i am interested to see what is written down so far, if there has been one. :>
the run is over on the final hit on master hand.
I've asked this question for normal 3ds timing and they say it's the exact same, but you have to change the delay and time on the console & timer you're using
potentially capture card reasons or something
those are garbage categories. run real stuff like subspace. literally the best smash bros speedrun among all the games.
I think that this game needs time to evolve, since it literally just came out. There's a lot of cutscenes and down time in the game, but thats already to be expected seeing how game freak is going for more story based elements and cinematics. Omega Ruby had a lot of just initial time savers; (various warps to certain towns that would save back tracking, options to skip certain things, etc. Along with X/Y those games were just a lot shorter in general. The trials and different puzzles, just take longer than beating gyms in some cases. so yeah, they did go for something very different than the usual format which is going to make these games much longer. This game is also a lot harder than the original, imo. They up scaled the difficulty due to the general mass' saying the first sun/moon was too easy lol
It's slightly better to track with it that way. ILs being labeled for Classic runs is just how it's been handled most of the time. I personally think it looks fine, especially since it's the more important categories. bonuses were already handled pretty well on cyberscore so for speedrun.com we focus on the classic mode.
its a boring category to me, and i think some other top runners dont really care for it either
Not until some major changes to leader board happen first. Although cyberscore already has all of them documented and you can submit yours there for now
lets get everyone who plays/run oot3d to do a 100% glitchless race
yeah i've also been doing this for all my runs. you can hit the switch with thunder after breaking the block & you don't need the damage boost off the cymul to make it to the other platform
After you kill olimar & reset, pick charizard first for the duon fight. It'll be way faster to do it with charizard & then right after that it takes your to the Halberd where you can quickly SD off the side and it'll switch you back to MK literally in front of the door you need to go in.
