@Jmak there are currently 6 runs in the queue (3 are yours?) all done within the last 48 hours. give the mod some time to actually verifiy.
This is just ridiculous from a moderator.
and not even waiting 2 days before demanding mod rights is not?
Run 1 Run 2 Run 3 Run 4 Run 5 Run 6

/edit: would a full mod be so nice and remove the logo on Jmak's profile? it doesn't say "speedrun.com" per the giant disclaimer right below the upload button...
yes - most ppl doing monster hunter speedruns don't feel like using speedrun.com for some bizzare reason.
he probably means why there are so many runs on yt that aren't listed on here. (most likely ILs)
basic answer: we would need to monitor the whole internet and add them ourselves, which in itself is a way too big task.
**not to be that guy but could you not talk about illegal stuff on here? ** https://www.nintendo.com/corp/legal.jsp#roms there's a whole site for you to read through if you want to know more.
Noticed this today when I was trying to find the Donkey Kong NES ROM, was planning to run it. Ah well, I'll find it somewhere else (legally, of course).
that would mean getting a physical cart or via VC then.
A: Should moderators be allowed to track runs of people who don't use the site? There's some discussion around this in the previous posts
- If the site is "opt-in only", the records will be further from accurate than if it is not. "Best attempt at accurate representation of times" is already lost. The holder of the best time may not use the site.
I'd say "Best attempt at accurate representation" is what we should strive for - even tho it's almost impossible to.
B: I'm not a fan of the sentiment of "having opted in means you can't ever opt out" It may persuade people to stop submitting because they don't want to abide by a future circumstance where they now can't opt out. Right now the existing worst case circumstance is "If you didn't opt in, you still can't opt out."
I agree, if you can't opt out it makes it seem like we're some kind of sect who will do terrible things to you if you don't agree with us.
C: Not having a site-wide rule (or even guidelines) on this actually makes the boards less consistent on this matter. Half the boards might have forced accuracy, and the other half are not forcing that accuracy. The users and runners get confused because it varies so much game to game and the expectation is scattered. Why should someone be allowed to remove their run from one game but not another just based on the moderator's preference?
I hope you guys still work on the Content Moderator thingy - the guidelines established there could be somewhat applicable to the whole site.
D : If the time is anonymously there but the video isn't shown anywhere, site users don't get any significant level of confidence that the run is legitimate. They can never see it and it's only known behind closed doors, so to speak. It may be accurate to the people that run the boards, but it's not perceivable as accurate to the people that view the boards. There's significant value in having a publicly available video for viewers to scrutinize. authenticity I don't see a problem with the video/proof not being available - if other times are legitimate it confirms the authenticity of the moderator and thus shouldn't raise suspicion.

you're inconsistent with your submissions, you submitted 2 runs with IGT and the new one is with real time. resubmit the newest one with IGT and it should get fixed as soon as it gets verified.
/ed.: now that I look at the leaderboard... holy that's a mess.
All applications listed on https://www.speedrun.com/resources are 100% virus free. if your AV thinks they are infected you should switch to a better AV.
one thing that comes to mind would be to follow the leaderboard layout. as in if the leaderboard uses only igt, don't submit your run with real time, vice versa etc.
@KeinZantezuken make sure to type em yourself, and not copy from this thread. [section=HelloKitty] [section=Section Name] <these don't work Content. [/section] <these don't work
bottom of the site, "Extra variables/subcategories" if you need it exact...
You want to create a variable called "Version" or "Patch" and then enter every version as a value. don't forget to uncheck the "default" checkbox or all your runs will be hidden.
SpiderSponge87, please don't advise people to put images into the VIDEO field - it's for videos until Pac adds another field for images or has the field detect what kind of evidence has been provided.
