Can I request someone time my run please? I messaged Havi a while ago on Reddit (I couldn't figure out how to message someone on speedrun.com), but I didn't get a response.
In my opinion, no memory or game modifications whatsoever should be allowed, regardless of their effects and the intention.
Good job spamming this on every GTASA-related forum you could find, and then littering the video with two dozen ads.
Guess I'm just too fast haha. I've just finished my first run (uploading now, gonna submit it when it's done), so I've got a lot to learn, such as stuff like this.
And I just softlocked at the end of Burn 'em Out, again seemingly for no reason. Video coming soon.
I just tried my first run of this game out of curiosity, and I softlocked on Eviction. Reznov never appeared at the end of the mission to open the door. Reznov wasn't anywhere that I could see. I suicided and tried again, and he still wasn't there. I took the right hand side of the metro.
Any ideas?
I remember I found this once when I was messing around with my control panel, I didn't know what caused it though. Also, starting the game is actually faster - the copyright screens go really fast.
The timer starts when you gain control in the first setup, and ends on the green flash of the finale. So yeah, time in freeroam counts towards the clock.
If you have some minor strats for Pacific Standard (including setups), share them! Below are mine.
In Signal, equip a mask when Lester tells you to lose the cops, and you'll drop down to 2 stars, which you can lose faster than the usual 3. Saves some seconds, I think it varies.
In Signal, use a Bati 801 (or another good stunting bike) to ramp up onto the helipad near Vinewood, rather than climbing the vents. Saves ~20 seconds.
Doesn't seem to work for me. I see it in my installed scripts, and it's enabled, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Having the frame limiter disabled can cause a lot of crashes, most notably during fade-to-black transitions. I don't think this is really worth mentioning though, since it's pretty common knowledge to always have the frame limiter enabled, but I'm saying it anyway for completion's sake.
Also, there's apparently (albeit small) memory leaks in 1.01 whenever you change radio stations. Maybe this is the cause of some of the seemingly random crashes people have had during RTLS?
