In my honest opinion, a leaderboard should be a place for people to post times and compete with each other. People make mistakes. If someone continues to cheat (or so on) then yeah a ban would be necessary.
That being said I agree with you, I wouldn't mind if Monado was unbanned from the leaderboards. I'm sure most will agree, but I'll chat with the mods about it later today.
He chose to remove his own times for personal reasons.
Part of the reason I've been thinking about it is Skozzy was one who verified things fast. Beyond that, it's no secret that I work a lot and am usually not the first to get to verifying a run. A lot of people like instant gratification on getting a run verified, and that's why I brought this up.
So clearly the leaderboard is down a few mods due to either inactivity or other reasons. There was some talk in Discord, and I agree that we should add Michael, Zircon, and Rhombus as mods to the leaderboard. Any objections?
@KingRedEagle Agreed. This goes for everyone. When we try to open things up to a community, people are going to disagree with you. But everyone should be civil and not jump to cursing each other out. It's embarrassing.

So originally this was brought up through a more aggressive light, you can check out my screenshot for more information on that. When we had discussed this originally in a moderator chat, I had not voiced my opinion as it was not the popular one and I apologize for that.
Seeing how this is going though, this is a bit ridiculous. So I'm going to close this up.
There was a lot of drama involved with USB loader as it is faster and not legitimate. At the time of Veman using it, there was no such ban. Did he convince people that it wasn't a huge time difference or a big deal? Probably. But as stated in this thread, anyone could have timed it if they had questioned it and easily seen the difference. Even in area 1 alone, it wasn't difficult to tell.
No crime was committed per say, rather a loophole was used and not questioned for a long time. You can't arrest a man for using a credit card a lot for personal gain before claiming bankruptcy. A loophole was used but no law was broken.
That being said, I'm going to end this and not be a "figure head". Veman will be allowed to post his times on the leaderboard as long as legitimacy is maintained. I will be scrutinizing every run submitted, and I implore anyone else who has suspicions to do the same.
I'm sorry if you have issues with this or personal contempt from being previously manipulated or verbally assaulted even, but being bad or untrustworthy isn't illegal.

I'll try and keep this brief.
As you may or may not be aware, Veman has recently been active again after a long time away and some drama that had happened. Leaderboard mods have been in discussion for the past couple days and have come to the conclusion that due to a lack of trust from past experiences, we will not be accepting his runs onto the leaderboard. Obviously he can still run the game and do what he wants, just the times will not be reflected on this website.

So for now im gonna remove Boohead (talked with him privately) and Jared from the leaderboard mod position due to inactivity. If either of them come back and prove activity, more than happy to put them back to that spot. I don't think I've seen any objection to this for the most part.
I'd like to hear everyone's answer. I have a different proposal. One that's not so confusing.
If you want to keep mod and prove you're active then fine. If there's any point in time where your account has not been on this website for over 5 days then you will not be a moderator. If you can prove you're actively participating then there's no reason for you to not be a mod.
I've been talking privately but might as well make a public statement here too.
If the community feels it's the correct decision then it's not about stepping down. The only point of a moderator is to verify runs. There's no social status associated. Hell you don't even have to be active running the game. But it is a responsibility, and if it's not being taken care of then people will take note. You hadn't logged into speedrun.com prior to this post for 18 days, so it's not about other people getting to verify runs first. It's not a demotion, it's not a sign of disrespect, it is more or less a volunteered job. But if you don't show up to your job, you get fired. If the community sees it that way, then that's the way it should be.

Look, I feel like I've proven myself, putting a large amount of work into this community and continuing to still try and help out solve issues, host events like the tournament or restreaming the relay race coming up, etc. Even if I don't run the game as much. Although I do think that I deserve to keep the rank, if other people don't agree then I'm not gonna be a douche about it. All you, community.

So some people in Discord were talking about updating the leaderboards a bit. Someone mentioned removing Boohead and Sarcrai due to inactivity and adding Snap, Michael, and Rhombus since they are always around in Discord and to help out and what not.
Also there was talk of potentially adding another supermod to the leaderboards as I myself have become a bit less active due to real life circumstances (running a business is hard yo). Do keep in mind, a supermod is not above anyone, but rather someone to help settle disputes. I'm cool either way no matter what people decide.

Ebay is usually a cheaper and faster resource over amazon. They seem to be in consistent supply there as well.
As long as the current 100% doesn't get rekt for some reason, I'm cool with adding the two new categories. Up to you all what you want to do with the keys. I don't like them, but they don't hurt me lol
