I have only done it once and i have no idea what the trigger is to make it happen. Whenever the glitches happens, it allows you to be able to run through the soda machines. This could save a few milliseconds when it eventually gets to that point.

Just thought id let you guys know! Its one of those frame perfect type chases, and ive only been able to do it 2 times.

This part is the breaker for any speedrun, so im just curious.
