Just here to say that someone being new to the community, saying they've only been here for a few weeks, then saying they "grinded their ass off" for a 1:31 Any% and then immediately starting to flame another runner for not running the game isn't exactly a great first impression.

Shit-talking other runners (who are better than you, for what it's worth), isn't the best way to get your point across. Everyone is welcome to their opinion, but if you come out guns blazing like that people aren't gonna take you seriously.

As for the glitchless argument, you're going to have a very difficult time defining a glitch in these games. Especially in these editions which right now have almost no glitches in the first place. If anything, this should likely be revisited later down the line if anything significant is discovered.

As for now, play how you want to play. Simple as that.

It's actually an "intended" mechanic, when Claude has been falling for a certain amount of time, the game places him in certain safe locations around the map to stop players being stuck out of bounds.

Hello everyone

As some of you have noticed, many categories have been revamped in the last few days. Some have been updated, some renamed and some have been removed entirely. These choices were for a number of reasons, some have been dead for years and others have been discontinued due to new rulesets in their respective categories. Reminder that having a leaderboard should not be a factor for running a category, and you can still continue to push these categories if you desire.

We've also revamped the segments for GTA III, Portland now has a more concrete timing to it (ending at Payday For Ray start instead of Last Requests end) and Staunton/Shoreside have been added as well. Be sure to check the respective timings and rules when submitting to those, and we will be treating them as a clean slate from today onwards.

The run had been pending for 3 days when you made this thread. I've been moving countries, so I've been busy. You already saw that it could take 1-3 weeks to get it verified depending on what's going on at the time.

Making threads about it won't make the process any faster, we will get to it once we have time.

Change your in-game resolution and change it back.

Alternatively, use a different method for windowing (dxwnd/d3dwindower etc)

This run is made by a cheater who lies about having the World Record, there's a reason none of their times are on official leaderboards.

Assuming you're watching speedrunners, there's a strategy to hit tags faster. It depends on where you aim, iirc aiming at the center of the tags allows you to complete them faster.

Silent patch isn't allowed in speedruns

In order to maintain consistency with III/SA and ensure no accidental or intentional NG+ affects runners, the mod team has decided to enforce mandatory game restarts per attempt for all runners going forward regardless of their leaderboard position. We are giving you all a two week grace period (until June 30th) to accommodate. Any runs from July 1st onwards will be rejected if you are not playing from a fresh game boot.

AHK scripts to quickly restart the game in-between attempts (including skipping the Capcom warning message) are allowed as long as they are used before the run begins. Using them to restart the game during the run will make your run illegitimate (this also applies to using them during Mult-Game runs).

TLDR - Mandatory game restarts for everyone beginning July 1st, no previous runs will be affected.
