I would give it a try. At the very least I would want to get a run. I love the idea of it.
So 6 frames before screen goes black is correct start frame? For future reference.
Oh is that how the timing works? I just did the frame the screen goes kinda fuzzy after starting direct. When doing the same for JkLoser's run, I get 1:59.000. Not even sure how .003 was even measured.
I will start running the game in the future so it would not be preferred to run on the FC version? I just always like using OG cartridge when able.
I'm actually not sure. I've never played the PAL version myself.
POLNAREFF too stronk. Maybe he will help me get Golf (NES) WR...
There are current categories for emulator they are just hidden. There is a drop-down button that will show them.
Great question, Proper reset is required between attempts. Will update the rules to make this clear.
Was there any more information found about the PRGO version cartridge? Been wanting to get the actual cartridge for a while now. If not I will most likely get the text only "Pulse" label cartridge.
Insane! It seems it can always be quicker! Can't wait to do more attempts.
True, I think we could do any 0:59s runs should be timed to actual time to the milliseconds.
Insane, I need get 59 now lul. 58 is not possible unless something is discovered.
Did a run in which I got over 19,000 points afterwards, I realized the audio was not being recorded... RIP. Anyways, at >=9000 Points, Brutus (Green Guy) will start teleporting on top of the player upon every movement leading to an eventual game over. What follows is the strategy I've discovered to achieve an indefinite highscore amount.
1: Get as close to 9000 points as you can. You must not go over 9000 points!
2: Wait until the maximum of 4 hearts are on screen and grabbable.
3: Use spinach to kill Brutus (Green Guy) on repeat. You can kill him twice with one spinach, but it is possible to kill him three times with one. While you are doing this, make sure to grab as many hearts as possible. This still has a good amount of RNG dependency, since during this if Brutus (Green Guy) is ever alive while you are not, say in "Spinach Mode" you will die over and over leading to a Game Over. It can be very annoying and hard to do because the spinach likes to bounce from the left and right side at seemingly random intervals, making it sometimes impossible to continue the chain of killing Brutus (Green Guy).
4: Keep doing this until the score will roll over to the ten-thousands digit. So, a score of 0100 would actually be 10,100 points. From here, gameplay precedes back to normal. Then repeat these steps for as long as you can.
Good luck!
Glad I could be a part of this wonderful event. Can't wait for the upcoming seasons!
