This thread has been kinda brewing in my mind for a while in my head. I personally do not understand why runs have not been separated by cart yet. Not only does it help the meta of specific carts thrive but it also opens the opportunity of newer people trying runs. Of course there may be new karts added to the game but this can be mitigated by grouping carts with similar speeds and routes together depending on each map.

Aside from these ideas, I was also thinking about a run with items on. iirc you are able to get the P power up in runs which can provide some diversion from the regular route. On top of that the frogs that you will have to spam to get said P power up will most likely get in the way which is a major difference from the regular run. Yes, there's a slight chance the P power up just loses time but because there hasn't been much labbing around it it's hard to tell.

Since there's a lack of many categories for the game aside from the basic ones realistically there's a ton of possible new ones, really just wanted to stir up conversation about new interesting ones.
