The timing one is easy to answer. The frame upon the lifebars disappearing would be ideal, so my vote goes towards that one :)

Regarding the 2 cats vs 3 cats question, the only reason I suggested 3 was because I wasn't wanting to nullify the 2 already existing categories, as doing so would obsolete one of MnGs runs completely. I'd personally vote for the 3 cat option, but it might be worth also asking @MUSICnGAMING & @FelipeNascimento83 think on the matter?

I'm here with the suggestion of added a 3rd category to the board. The category in question would be Any%, which I believe would fit nicely with the recent renaming of the already existing categories for the game.

My 2 most recent submissions (hardest 7:53, and 8:01) take advantage of a skip/exploit that wasn't known prior to these 2 runs being done. This is performed by pressing the test menu switch during certain portions of the game to skip a fair chunk of loading. They also take advantage of the "Less Health" option too, however upon further testing, I believe that this doesn't actually affect the AI, only the player.

Now I know that TA wasn't released officially, however there are some places out there that have this game available on cab, meaning this exploit wouldn't be available to perform in most situations. Thus the suggestion of the new 3rd category.

If taken on board, I believe the categories should be laid out as follows: Any% - Any difficulty, Test skip allowed Easiest - Easiest difficulty, Test skip banned Hardest - Hardest difficulty, Test skip banned

Lastly, I did raise it in my last post, but only as a passing comment, would it be possible to change the end frame of timing to the final hit on Koldan, just to bring everything more in line with other FG Boards?

Anyone have any thoughts on any of the above?

I've had a look on both the official Replay Burners site, and also you YouTube, and the only run I've found using Lee by gheb is this one that clocks in at 16+ minutes, which is definitely not the 8 minutes listed on this site...

Hi all. I have a few questions about this board, not necessarily gripes, more just curiosity.

First up, 1cc requirements (no continues allowed). I'm always curious when I see this in a ruleset, and I was curious as to why it was in play here?

Next up, why is the timer end point when the newspaper appears, and not on the final hit to Koldan as it is with most other FG speedruns?

Next up, DBcades run is definitely not running at full speed. I know this game has had problems emulating at full speed on previous versions of MAME, but not any of the recent ones. I'm not suggesting anything should happen to the run as it obviously hinders the final time. Was just most of an observation.

Lastly, just another observation, changing the difficulty doesn't actually effect the AI in this game. Only the gravity. Easy setting charcaters will float more, whilst hard setting characters will fall faster.

To be blunt, and in short, not currently. Vanilla SF4 has gotten very little interest since the initial weeks of the board being created, and basically 0 interest in categories outside of the Arcade mode based categories. With that being the case, the maintenance of the board has sat on the back-burner, with more popular games taking priority over this one.

If you have a plan to run a particular category outside of the Arcade modes, please let us know and we'd be more than happy to set up categories for runs you've already completed.

Until then, I'll be removing the misc section to avoid any potential confusion.

Can I just not have runs from games I don't follow on my frontpage? If I wanted them on my frontpage, I would've followed them.

It's likely that it was just never added, or missed, during the verification process. Easily rectified. I'll do that now :)

So, having double sub'd a run for both Time Attack Easy, and Time Attack Any, it makes me think, is there really any need for both cats when the only difference is AI 1 or AI 3?

Also, if i want to run a cat on hard, with AI 5, what happens?
