In any event, now that we've confirmed that you would do it if only you had the time, I'll try reaching out to each individual moderator of this board and I'll see if I can't hurry it up a bit. One of you has a spare minute coming up soon; I just need to figure out which one it is.

A second run by GrimmyHunter. What a beast.

My responses to both MorKs and Obiyo were too lengthy for forum posts so I've sent them in DMs. For the sake of transparency and keeping in spirit with this conversation being a public one, I'm happy to share my own DMs if asked. That being said, I leave it up to MorKs and Obiyo to share their parts of it.

And just so we can avoid any attempts at claiming there's only one run here and you need to see at least two, here's GrimmyHunter's run too -

You guys wanted an actual runner of the category to request its presence on the board. Well, now you've got it.

Here's my run -

I hereby officially request that you make two sub-categories for Sonic 4 (All Episodes): Beat The Game and All Emeralds.

It's doable if you have multiple consoles and monitors. Still, I'd say that serial and parallel should be separate categories.

If people want an emu board and you can make one that doesn't conflict with console runs, you make the board.

If the community has a problem with emu runs on this specific board, make a category extensions board and put them there.

If the mods think there's too many emulators to keep track of, just pick a couple of them and ban the rest.

If the mods can't be bothered to do any of it 'cause they're just not interested, find new mods who will take care of the emu board.

If you can't find volunteers to take care of the emu board, the community doesn't want it bad enough and you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Problem solved. It shouldn't take four years to make this happen. Whatever issues arise from this, a competent group of people can hammer out in a week tops. Anything more than that and there's something else going on.

The entire process should take any moderator no longer than a minute to set up. Once it's done properly, all the current runs will be set by default as N64 runs which will leave the Emu sub-category empty. If there are any emu runs on the board currently, keep track of them and maybe make a list of them so you can edit them and shift them to the Emu sub-category where they belong.

Easy peasy.

Making the N64/Emu sub-categories for this board is not difficult. You can apply those two sub-categories to every single full-game category all at once.

Here's the instructions on how the moderators can set it up.

1. Click on Edit Game
2. Click on Variables
3. Click on New Variable
4. Name the variable whatever you want (i.e. "N64 or Emu")
5. Click on New Value. Name it "N64"
6. Click on New Value. Name it "Emu"
7. Click on the Default checkbox in the N64 value.
8. Click the three vertical dots on the "N64 or Emu" variable. Click on "Set the default for all runs without a value.
9. Click on the three vertical dots on the "N64 or Emu" variable. Click on Edit Variable.
10. Set "Level" to "Full-game and all levels". Set "Category" to "All categories". Turn on "Use as sub-category".

It's not unreasonable to ask for more than just a simple "no" when your run is rejected. That being said, any game with hentai in its title is on thin ice right out of the gate.

Here's my opinion.

If you play by real-life rules, one billion lions almost certainly win. It isn't realistic for animals to be made of rock and steel, shoot fire from their mouths, or time travel at will. If they're all just weird animals, the lions destroy most of them within a day.

If you're playing by video game rules, one billion lions are presumably normal-type and I think they'd be at a decent level. There's only about 900 unique pokemon across all games from what I understand and they don't have enough energy with their limited movesets to take down one billion lions, so the lions take it there as well.

If you're playing by anime rules, one billion lions don't have an answer for the sort of godlike powers that some of these pokemon have. The bigger water-types can drown most of them, the rock/steel types can't be hurt at all, and hybrid fliers just scorch them from above. Lions will kill some of the pokemon, like probably a bunch of the smaller ones and a lot of the grass-types, but the pokemon will win eventually just because of the legendaries.

Maybe this guy holds the Tomb Raider mods in high regard and seeks verification from them regardless of where he stores his runs because he feels it lends them credibility. He might have no intention of keeping the runs on SRC but that doesn't necessarily have to mean he won't want approval from the Tomb Raider community, and submitting them here temporarily is an easy way to get that. He could screenshot the page that says his run is verified, save that on his PC, and be satisfied knowing that other people believe his runs to be legitimate.

Just thoughts.

@Oreo321 I'm aware. My opinion remains unchanged.

Inactive mods should be removed regardless of how many other active mods may currently exist on any given board. It'd be courteous to consult those active mods about it and let them be the ones to handle it, but that's how it ought to be handled either way. I think at the very least, a moderator should be logging in every two weeks to check for new runs or forum posts. In the event that a person is gone for three months or two years, I don't personally understand a viewpoint suggesting that person is entitled to stay on as a moderator.

I fully support cleaning up boards by getting rid of inactive moderators.

For what it's worth, Skavenger216 hasn't logged into his account in three months and Rollbuster hasn't logged into his account in two years.

I don't believe we've ever even thought about penalizing someone for using the password system to get back into the game after having lost all of their lives. It's always been thought of as time loss to have to go back to the main menu, so that's penalty enough.

If you think you can find a way to go fast with tons of deaths, by all means. As long as you're reaching each level legitimately and you're not skipping anything, I don't see why not. Just seems like strats to me.
