When I played Twisted Metal 2, I did it using the ePSXe emulator. I can't speak for the other guys. For the most part, we accept all runs and haven't done a ton of research into loading times between differences. Think there's work to be done there?

Some acronyms use two or more letters from the same word or part of a word. DNA is an example of that.

I wonder if there's actually a real number that you guys would accept. One person definitely isn't enough under most circumstances and two isn't much better, but where would you guys draw the line? If there were 10 people who wanted 50cc, would you cave? 15? 20? I'd like to see you all agree on a number and give the guy some hope instead of just shooting him down. Maybe he's got friends that'll run it with him. Maybe I do too :)

Reminder: I never said the community wanted it or didn't want it. I said "if" enough people want it, they should have it. Don't get too defensive, guys. Giving people a place to post 50cc and 100cc runs doesn't threaten your way of life nearly as much as you might think lol.

I'd also like to see 50cc and 100cc added.

Edit: If enough people want a place to track their times on 50cc and 100cc, you should give it to them. Don't make the mistake of being the kind of moderator that thinks he or she is above the community. That's how big drama happens and it makes things a lot less fun for people.

it kind of feels like you guys are trying to bait me here and I'm not really interested in all that. I just want to hear a progress report. Surely this thread could do with staying on that topic and we don't have to make it about me.

@ROMaster2 Is it just me that's not allowed to see this board? I'd like to be able to look at it on this site. What needs to be done before you guys will allow me to see it again?

Also, what work needs to be done before all the boards will be in working order? Can you tell me which people specifically are involved in doing the work? I want to know as much about the situation as possible, both to satisfy my curiosity and to maybe even find a way to help. I know a few tech-savvy people that could potentially be useful in this situation given the right motivation. Maybe I can pay them to help set it up for everybody.

@European_Union I think I've been pretty patient. Four months is a long time to not be spamming the forums with thread posts about it. Which Discord is this being discussed in? I'd like access to it. Maybe I can get updates from there and post them here if no one else wants to.

Also, if it's going to take another four months before people are ready to make this happen, let me just say that I am still willing and able to manually set up leaderboards for each classic Mega Man game on my own. I could have all 10 done in two months or less. Say the word and I'll get to work.

What's the difference between the two Content Moderators, the three Full Moderators, and the four Administrators in terms of what they all actually do from day to day?

For reference, the number you probably need to meet in order to establish that enough people run it and want it seems to be one. There's a precedent for this on the board already. The 0% category under the Miscellaneous tab has only one runner.

It's very hard to know how to be a moderator without first being a moderator. There's a shortage right now of people who are eager to teach classes to random people on how to work a leaderboard so the best thing a guy can do if he wants to figure it out is ask questions and hope you're lucky enough to mod a board at some point so you can get first-hand experience. Truthfully, it's actually a super easy thing to do and people won't tell you that 'cause they want to hang on to some sort of special feeling they get from being able to say they're a mod. Literally anyone can do it and it's not hard. The true difficulty comes from not abusing your position and heckin' people over for silly reasons. That's a trap that not everyone can avoid.

Edit: I don't see the combo for the shield in there but I'd definitely say that's fair game. Is it only those three?

Mostly we just use the freeze. I think the justification for using it is that you can do it easily in-game with a simple button combo, it uses up your energy which is what the energy is there for, and the enemy cars all use freezes as well. Those criteria are pretty good rules of thumb but we can discuss it and decide for ourselves which moves we think are fair game and which aren't. What do you think?

I like this idea. There are certain people who are good at verifying runs but aren't so good at other things that a moderator might be responsible for, like interacting with other people or the community at large, setting up or naming categories, etc. The concept of breaking up mod powers into several roles and limiting what people can do is appealing to me.

I'm willing to manually mirror each one of the games in the Mega Man series by myself. I've always been down to do that work. My preference would be that you guys maintain it after I'm done, but if you're not up for it then I'm also willing to port over new and updated PB's after they've been verified on MMLB.net. Hit me up with mod for one of the games; I'll start with that and we'll see how it turns out.

I also can't see any runs on this board. Are there many runners of this? Hopefully you guys can fix the board soon.

I'm opposed to the idea of deleting a game like this. What console is this for? What type of game? Maybe I'll do a run right now and we'll get this board back up there.
