I like Zecora's idea. Just merging fireteam/duo would work really well. Especially since the word "fireteam" is any group of players more than 1.
The original Pre-2.1 runs were locked because sparrow clipping, sparrow boosting, and a bunch of other mechanics were either nerfed, removed, or changed in some major way.
To fast on a sparrow you can pump the main boost throttle on certain jumps or terrain to gain speed. Pairing that with an overdrive boost sparrow can make you go really fast.
I've been fairly inactive lately due to school and other stuff, but I'm starting to regain interest in running/routing again. I'm on ps4 and would love to try out some co-op/fireteam runs.
The same goes for raids.
I main a hunter most of the time, however IMO titans have become invaluable for speedrunning due to their ability to titan skate and maneuver large distances in midair.
I don't stream, however I know that ModernTryhard, Tfue, and possibly fleshcrunch stream.
If y'all wanna talk speedrunning n shit, my PSN is Cleverusernombre
Looking at the latest KF Raid WR - 31:45 by Team Redeem http://www.speedrun.com/run/oy2xp19m from roughly 17:37 to 18:37 you guys spend a lot of time skating through the "maze".
Apparently, simply wiping once you reach the Golgoroth's Cellar load zone (17:37) will cause your team to spawn at Golgoroth's door, saving roughly 1 minute.
I know its a pretty small save, but I'm fairly confident you guys can break sub 30 mins pretty damn easily.
Here is a video showing the time and place to wipe.
Thanks to PSNtheBled for sharing this.
So I may need to do more tests, but I'm pretty sure that sparrow clipping has been patched and that's no bueno.
Sweet man. I look forward to seeing it. I also just uploaded a 3rd-floor skip much like your guys' that's "hunter-friendly" and maybe more consistent than phalanxes at the possible cost of a few seconds. I'm not entirely sure about the timing yet, but its from the very first room with the taken thrall and 2 vandals:
FINALLY! Seriously, mad props to you guys for finding a phalanx launch glitch! I've been mucking around with taken and cabal phalanxes for days trying to figure out a method of launching. Great job!
Its quite lonely being on PS4 in this community. Sure, I've got my PVE pals and raid groups, but runners? Nada, nope, zilch, zippo. There are so many Xbone users that are grouping together and such, so I'm looking for any other PS4 runners that would like to group up and share routes/ideas/glitches etc. Feel free to add me: Cleverusernombre Regardless of your skill level or knowledge of the game, I welcome anyone who's interested in speedrunning. :P
I think a 3rd option is possible, actually. Its pretty simple to verify a run's legitimacy by simply viewing the end mission time of your game id on destiny tracker. If the submitted run matches the user's account, end time, and mission/event name as the game id supplied by the runner, then the run could possibly be auto-verified with no way of cheating.
Is there a way that we can have NG+ sections added? It seems that only raid, strike, and individual level times are able to be viewed on the speedrun.com page. Or hell, maybe even a NG "from scratch" section. Along with that, I may be interested in contributing to the Guides section for basic tricks/tools when running. If that's okay, of course.
^ I would sorta disagree with that. I understand that its always fun to be showy and play a challenge, but the whole purpose of speedrunning (at least to me) is to complete a task as fast as humanly possible using whatever means possible. Running any level higher than Easy means theres a heroic modifier and more enemies. The amount of spawned enemies that need to be killed can be absolutely critical for your times in many missions throughout destiny, so I think hard mode would literally make getting a pb/wr harder. IMO speedrunning isn't about being impressive, but completing a task the most efficient way possible.
Wait celestial nighthawk? Haha did you mean hunter?
About a day ago the YouTuber Oophilly_215oO posted This Video: about a titan "samurai kick" glitch wherein he could actually fly backwards into the sky after using death from above in the seraphim vault.
I currently do not have a titan (hopefully when the TTK starts I'll make one and boost him) so if anyone on here would be able to do some research/testing on this glitch then it could be used as an EXTREMELY useful tool in runs.
There are a few important things/assumptions I want to note here: I think the use of this glitch NOT limited to only in the Seraphim Vault. What I'm guessing is happening is that when you use death from above it allows you to manipulate the direction/camera control after enough time has passed. My theory is that the "out of map" instant-death barrier in the Seraphim Vault is just low enough (or nonexistent) to allow the death from above enough uninterrupted time to cool down. So if someone were to reach an area with a lower death barrier then this silly glitch could possibly be harnessed as a tool. I think one of the best places this could be tested with is the Black Garden as it has a VERY low death barrier (seriously it takes like half a minute to die from falling). If anybody is able to test this and release a video that would be a serious favor to many runners. Also, if anyone would like to try this out with me on PS4, my psn is Cleverusernombre and I'm happy to help whenever.
[center][big][big]CleverUsername's List 'o Tricks/Skips/Timesavers and Routes (Updated whenever):[/big][/big][/center]
[center] [section=Misc. Skips/Tricks/Timesavers:]
[center][big]TimeBreaker/Graverobber Vault Transfer[/center][/big]
- You can transfer a Timebreaker/Graverobber to your brand new character in the "A Guardian Rises" level. This means it can be used once you exit the breach like in current runs with the default sparrow.
[center][big]Lunar Complex to Skywatch Death Warp[/center][/big]
- From the base of the Lunar Complex you can get out of map and hit a load zone for the Skywatch. You'll die instantly and respawn at the entrance.
[center][big]Skip long hallway in The Breach. ¤Works Forwards and Backwards!¤[/center][/big]
- Any class (suggested hunters have Bones of Ayoooooo) can skip the Long hallway in the Breach by simply jumping across. Video below could be done much faster (some serious slop), avoids tripmines, and may be quicker than taking a sparrow.
[center][big]The Last Array Clip Skip[/center][/big]
- You can wall breach in the Skywatch to reach the Terrestrial Complex load zone. Very Useful for "The Last Array" Mission. ¤Note¤Spawning a sparrow in the load zone is not necessary, just fun to do. Simply jump up to hit the load point, and depending on whether or not you're infront/behind the door, you'll either go into the map regularly or glitch outside the map.
[section=Routes:]
[center]Bungie removed Armor-Piercing Rounds. Route = Ded.[/center]
- Using the "Infinite Thrall Glitch" path to get out of map, a fireteam could split up to load in the wizard and kill him from below with a Sniper Rifle using Armor Piercing Rounds.
