Good/Good Super Mario 64 is an obvious pick. I'd argue that even with its problems, its still one of the best aging games of the N64/PS1 era in a time where they were still getting used to 3D. The speedrun tech for it is insane and even if you're bad it still feels really good to get a good split. (For a more hidden gem, Gunpoint is really good both casually and speedrunning)
Bad/Good This is the hardest one to pick, I guess there are some flash games that are more fun to run than to actually play casually? I can't really think of anything.
Good/Bad Visual Novels, for example the Ace Attorney series. Danganronpa, Ace Attorney, Zero Escape, are all great but have pretty crappy speedruns imo as they are made up of just holding or mashing 1 button.
Well, welcome to the site. You seem to be focusing on more obscure games.
You seem pretty cool! I'd say that you're on the older spectrum, yeah. Average age is probably 15-23. SUPERHOT is really fun to run with how its mechanics works, being time-based and all, and top-level Superhot and Superhot VR runners are insane to watch.
@Iceolatortv To further support what Timmiluvs is saying, 67mbps upload is unbelievable. What you more likely mean is 67 download or 0.67 upload.
What I would recommend, is, assuming that you're using wifi, a wired connection to the router for both your PS4 and your computer would probably help alot.
Also, is the quality bad as you're playing, or is it simply that you look back on the video and it looks bad? It might have something to do with your OBS settings.
If none of that is the matter, your internet might simply not be able to handle it. The PS4 has a pretty alright built in twitch streaming feature that doesn't require you to stream to your PC, though I think if you wanna record the "Video Clip" will only record a few minutes. However, you can always just use the twitch vod assuming that your internet can handle just regular video streaming well which it seems it can.
(And though you said before that you're not using Hardware, I'd just like to say that a Capture Card helps out alot and is more reliable than streaming it to your PC. I'd recommend any of AverMedia or Elgato's capture cards.)
While this may seem generic/obvious, you should try to see how much you want to practice. It differs for a lot of people. It sounds like you're practicing for quite a bit daily, so you may want to do it only every other day. Listening to music while practicing or streaming attempts might help. Just remember that you don't have to do runs if you don't want to. Even big speedrunners can get burned out.
Welcome to the site. Doom runs are hard to optimize.
Removed for being inactive on src and Youtube for a year.
Sounds frustrating. Would you mind if you provided more details and screenshots if possible?
Hey Marcus, welcome to the community! In terms of general tips, I suggest you at least skim through these forum posts: https://www.speedrun.com/streaming_recording_equipment/thread/qlnmy https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/pgxyw
You can see useful resources here: https://www.speedrun.com/resources
If you have any questions, the community is generally glad to help. If its a game-specific question you can ask it in their forum, or their discord or they have 1.
(And though this is more subjective, some etiquette suggestions):
-Don't complain about your run taking a while to verify. The mods have lives. -Don't ask to be a moderator for a speedrun leaderboard. It's generally annoying if they don't need one. -Don't cheat, obviously. -Don't necro threads.
Tony Hawk 2 was really fun to run even if im garbage. I was thinking about running 1, 3, Underground or HD. I wanna run Super Mario World and Bennett Foddy some time in the future. Other than that:
-Street Fighter III and Alpha Series -Tekken Series -Soulcalibur Series -Tetris games I haven't run -Half-Life 2 or its expansions -Call of Duty: MW2 Campaign -Other versions of Pac-Man -Portal 2 Co-op Campaign
Better late than never. Congrats on becoming a content mod for the site!
@DiegooBrisolla I assume you're talking about one of the physical versions: https://www.amazon.com/Resident-Evil-HD-Ultimate-DVD-PCD/dp/B00I95Y324 As for if you can run it, you should ask the members of the RE4 speedrunning community. It looks like they have a discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/xaSZfNN
