With the new update, some of the maps have changed slightly (particularly the upward climbing sections) and it looks like the pause buffer for the cat form long jumps might not work (not fully confirmed though).

Thoughts on how this might affect the boards (if at all)?

I wouldn't say it's a glitch as I don't do anything special to use the exploit allows you to watch multiple ads for multiple powerups, and you're using that fact to your advantage in Ad Free (I realized that each powerup you select is a level up, so by using that exploit you go from level 2 to however many levels you take). That said, I do was to double check that you are allowed to watch multiple ads in one level up in the Ads version​ first before anything gets moved on. I'll update you on that.

If you'd want, you can set a rule that the exploit just isn't allowed and at most you can only watch one Ad per level up in some of the categories.

The biggest thing between FF and NG+ is Finale - you start NG+ Finale with all three keycards in your inventory and can bypass everything to get to the end. That alone is a 5-7min difference (can we say, no more doing that annoyingly-long rock-blowing mission in Finale?) and holds true with and without ads.

I've been tinkering with LBM for the sake of marathon submissions, and in theory there can be a total of eight categories...Any% and Glitchless versions of these four (this names are just what I've been calling my runs):

• Fresh File, With Ads
• Fresh File, Ad-Free
• NG+, With Ads
• NG+, Ad-Free

There's multiple minutes of difference between each category (especially between Fresh File and NG+ versions; there's a guaranteed 6ish minute time save present). I have VODs of most of the category breakdowns (right now I'm working on the Any% versions for said marathon submissions, and boy my skips aren't clean yet). if you want to see what I mean.

I've been trying, and unfortunately not noticing any damage difference - it's arguably taking longer to try the bombs than just spamming sword slashes. I'll capture some boss footage at some point tonight for reference (and to make sure I'm producing accurate samples).

On the bright side, I do have access to the bomb skips over holes...small victories, haha!

I have the Limited Run version of the game (I'll be playing the LR blue cart on an Analogue Pocket for my runs), and the 0hp glitch isn't available for runs that are on hardware (meaning the game does factor in fall damage, and you will game over if you fall and reach 0hp from the fall). It might be best if there's two different leaderboards for how people are running the game (ROM vs hardware). Thoughts?

I'll be routing an any%, sword only run of this today and was curious if there's going to be a category opened for it?

I haven't see it myself, but I'm curious what the common thread is going to end up being...that could be huge if there's a consistent way to replicate it.

The only thing I could think of is that something is done to get the game to think you're on an edge when in reality you're not...?

I started playing this today on PS5, but there isn't an option to select that from what I'm playing on (right now it's just PC and Switch). Would it be possible to include it in the platform options? Thanks in advance! :D

For the run I just submitted, I waited a second to show my character at a standstill and began the timer at first input to get him moving on account of it being a bit tricky to tell when the inputs actually begin (not to mention playing on console/controller and remembering your livesplit hotkey is on your keyboard has cost me a few runs when I would just start without the pause).

I think music and visible input start both work, it just depends on which ends up being preferred.

Yeah, I submitted it on an amused whim and WELP, haha. Also, the schedule was just revealed - my time is Thursday, 1/13/22, at 4:33am Eastern. Should be a hilariously good (read: bad) time! :D

I honestly don't know...but I'm the only one that runs this on PS4. Hopefully someone else can chime in on this for you.

Though this does make me want to experiment with the DS4 and see if I can speed up my cursor movement...

Im not sure if it's possible to change it without throwing the entire Leaderboard out of whack, but "Experienced" is misspelled as "Expirienced" in the categories. That's all!

The rules would be as follows:

1. You cannot save any humans during the entire run. Humans can be released from their boxes (through killing Keepers and multipliers for Secret Humans), but must not be saved.
2. The run MUST be completed as a 1cc run. This is to prevent acquiring additional lives and Bombs using Game Over refills.
3. Picking up Weapon Upgrades (the green plus signs throughout the run) is allowed.
4. Time start/stop is the same as all other categories.

Basically, you get the bombs and lives you start the game with...and that's it. Thoughts?
