I'm a giant fan of Element/Matrix and I really want to switch but due to lazy fat discord mods it's been hard to say the least. To address concerns
- Reluctance of users to create another account for another platform A cool thing with matrix is that it's decentralized. So you can use one account from one server on any server. This does work only for the matrix protocol though, so no easy transfer I guess, but matrix.org supports logging in with github and google and some other stuff I think, so it's really easy.
- Potential fragmentation of communities / need to re-build a platform / home, especially for the many smaller communities out there There are many matrix-discord bridges out there. Personally I use https://t2bot.io/discord/ and it's really good. On matrix it's like the user from discord is in the matrix channel. So transferring communities can be done gradually.
- The structure might not make sense for a lot of games/communities atm Not sure what you mean by structure, but matrix now supports spaces, which are in a way like servers. You have groups of rooms and you can give permissions to users in each room. So you can have different admins for different subjects.
- The place just isn't very popular I come from minecraft bedrock so I can't speak for everyone, but in my case if users are willing to switch platforms for the better then they are more dedicated to the community. So instead of 1000 brainless wallnuts you have 500 really good players. Of course this doesn't apply to all games, and the minecraft matrix space isn't popular at all (but I'll blame it on the mods). And some games don't have the 1000 players in the first place. But I don't think anyone will look at a game and see they don't use discord and just give up on running it.
Yes, xbox one has 2 versions of minecraft, bedrock and legacy console (which just says "Xbox One edition"). If you have minigames for example or are missing servers then that is the legacy console. Good luck!

(that's what cross platform means)
Think about it like random seed but with only good seeds. In java they can decompile the code cuz it's java and see how seeds are made and some other stuff. In bedrock it's like super duper complicated and we don't have any tools to find good seeds. Unless someone else makes a tool that is open source and cross platform we will not add fsg
Using IGT is close to impossible for us. IGT in java is done by reading the world file and looking for when it gets to the end and such things. If you go ahead and open a world file of bedrock you'll see gliberish, because bedrock is mean. And even if we could read world files it would still leave mobile and console un-retimable. Other games time IGT by reading game bytes, specifically the loading state ones. But we can't do this in bedrock because console and mobile, and we don't have such tool for PC. Only windows has livesplit but we don't have any impostors to program on such garbage viruses like windows 7/10.
There's also retiming manually IGT, but that will no doubt increas the verification time of each run by 4 times at least, and no one wants that.
There's also letting people retime themselvves, but it's a really really really bad idea to let others retime their own runs, since they can easily fake the time.
So no, IGT isn't, and will most likely never, be a thing in this game
Can't you make "guest" accounts on xbox? Accounts which are duplicates of another which shouldn't share save files and other stuff. At least it works on the holy xbox 360
Oh boy aren't I a good mod. Regardless, I the version I've seen most runners use to the resources section of this leaderboard. Here's a direct link. This should be ran with ruffle, a flash emulator. Besides a couple of visual glitches it works great, and some runners have said it runs smoother. That version is taken from this website
A) Stop bumping old threads B) Mango is number 1. Figuratively and literally.
We can reject runs that do not make an attempt to be fast, as per the website rules https://www.speedrun.com/moderationrules#ch5_Run_Requirements
A minimum effort requirement is reasonable. It is recommended to at a minimum accept a first playthrough done in one sitting with an intention of playing the category quickly.

I feel like there are a good amount of categories already on the website, and destroying a spawner isn't too challenging compared to the many other "obtain item" categories there are already. Spawners are found in caves and in the nether so it's just a race for best seed.
