@verborum , let's community to decide, but I always consider "Any%" as a category when you should complete the game / kill final boss / trigger last cinematics etc.
If Larian do not consider alternative ending as a game completion, so why should we?
main goal is to reach the credits
In some games you can reach credits by clicking "Credits" in menu.
Any proofs from someone who got achievement for alternative ending?
Because I'm playing 4 persons co-op and we are far from any ending. I can check this maybe in 1-2 months.
Here are proofs from my friend. He got alternative ending Aug, 7 (https://prnt.sc/wTIY2IXfkDGB), and got achievement for completing the game on Aug, 13 (https://prnt.sc/vRwD234WEEdP).
Hi everyone,
Current maeeeeee 10-minute run is not "Any%" and should be listed in another category.
The problem is that for this ending you do not get achievement "All’s Well That Ends Well" (for game completion) so technically game is not completed.
Achievements triggers are set by game developers and Steam gives you achievements base on those triggers. So if you don't get achievement, then it means that game is not finished from the developers perspective.
She did a great job finding bunch of really interesting techniques, but this is not Any% run in a common sense.
If I mistake and you get achievement for this ending, then I apologise. I have only information from one person who also followed this ending and did not get achievement.
Best regards,
This shit should be removed from the speedrun.com.
Hi everyone,
We are running Cyberdogs co-op now and we are faced with a strange issue. During a run I missed up to switch split and thus all times became broken. Total time is 12:06 but it doesn't look very nice when every level you end with +55 sec except the last level. I decided to record playback from video file, to fix splits, but in this case total time became 12:00. I checked a few times and there is not mistake, so it means that new video file is a little bit faster than a real time video. Do you know why this happen? And is there a way fix this?
I use OBS, 1920x1080, 30 fps, 2500 constant bitrate. Encoder: NVIDIA NVENC H.264 Preset: Quality Profile: high
Good job! :D I'm not a HoMM 3 speedrunner, just was surprised that noone ran Gelu campaign, because I think it's the most easier one.
Good job! Now the page looks much better!
What's the problem to make "Long Live the Queen" as a first category ? And move ROE, AB, SOD full campaigns to the end (or better to delete them).
Yes, but we speedrun campaigns and campaign maps, and they are refer to different expansion packs (because they are stucked in RoE and AB and its balance). For me information will be a little more structured, instead of just putting everything related to HOMM3 game in one thread. Even campaign list will be inconvenient, because there are 20 campaigns in total. It's hard to even remember each name and from what expansion it is.
@NieMaTakiegoDrugiego: Just watched your "Long Live the Queen" speedrun. Is there any way to "invite" DD to GM ? Or just a lot of tries ? I thought about playing first with map generation to check 5th level spell in towns, and then load game and run it as a speedrun. But not sure this will work. The same thing with Utopias content is you need Air book or Angel Wings.
Hi Adam,
Thanks for your reply! Yes, the website design changed recently, but I'm in love of speedrunning since I've found Speed Demos Archive website long ago, and want a data to look good here.
I've read HD+ discussion, thanks for a link. HD+ is an absolutely amazing thing I ever seen in game modding and disallowing its features is a crime. I don't know if you allowed UI.InviteHero or not in result, but as for me it should be legal. Though I agree that HD+ and vanilla is an absolutely different games. Unfortunately, vanilla is sucks and I see no reason to play it.
Regarding ROE, AB and SOD: For me it's a totally different games, because they have not only an additional map/campaign packs, they also have some balance changes, AB and SOD have one more fraction, SOD introduced set artifacts (such as AOTD) and many other artifacts changes. They was even created in different years. Every expansion has 7 campaigns from 3 to 8 missions each and if we will have a cumulative level leaderboard it will contains about 90 individual levels which is too much for one game. Is there any problems to manage 3 games instead of 1? I'd like to help.
Also suggestion: I think "in-game days" category is a very good idea and should be as an option in the list where "HD+", "No HD+" and "vanilla". Though I don't understand why "in-game days" category contains info about time. It should have only info about months, weeks and days spent.
UPDATE: Forgot to mention: players can speedrun not only campaigns and campaign maps, but also a single scenarios (about 30 for each expansion). This is an argument to dividing game into 3 games.
1h 58m 59s 160ms what does it mean? if you play "in-game days", and campaign took you 160 days, then write result as 5m 2w 6d (as 5h 2m 6s)
