There's nothing stopping you from just creating any arbitrary category and running it yourself. Whether it gets on the leaderboards or not is dependent on how many people run it and if enough people want it on there.

Another thing to point: due to the "You need the classic controller to play" screen, Wii VC resets are slightly slower. That shouldn't affect it being faster than N64, but it's good to point out.

That actually changes the No IM/WW route slightly between Wii VC and N64. On N64 you do a double savewarp to get to LACS from Bow, but on Wii VC you play minuet then savewarp.

No, it was because of the dive cancel. He cancelled a dive by pressing A and C-Up on he same frame, and from there there's one frame in Link's idle bobbing in water animation where he can move, and you use that to get onto the vine and back inbounds.

Oh, I misunderstood what you had said. The new method of GID clips out of bounds into water and uses a dive cancel to make the game think Link is underwater, so when he picks up something it will be stored as opposed to being picked up.

You aren't looking at the WR run. The WR is a 17:09 and uses dive cancel GID instead of the old deku nut crawlspace GIM. Look at the current WR under the any% tab and watch that video before continuing.

Ok. I just use a window capture (I think) and capture the Livesplit.exe. I don't have my computer on hand rn so I can't actually look, but doing that should work.

Are you using OBS to compile it all into a video?

What timer are you using?

I've done a few runs of this. Here's probably the fastest route:

Any% until you place FW in goron city, but instead go to kakariko and place it there. RIWW, learn Nocturne DHWW, Ocarina items, play Nocturne Beat Ganon

It's really not that different from any%

Kid_Gamer posted a guide called Simple Glitches (ISG and Navi Dive), with N64 footage, and stated that those glitches also work in OoT3D. They do not (ok techically Navi Dive still does, but it's extremely precise and not nearly as simple as the video makes it out to be. ISG doesn't work at all like that on 3d)

The video shows the N64 methods of these tricks. While there are OoT3D methods of doing both of them, they are not shown in that video. It is not an OoT3D guide.

The one thing that I'm not sure is if Jabu chus are faster than bombs. I don't think they are, though, as bombs are really easy to get once you've entered Dodongo's Cavern.

Oh wait I know. Before starting a new game, go to Shrine of Resurrection and kill yourself. That makes it load a new game faster. This probably is the fix for the new game -> Nintendo being slower, but idk the rest.

Are you playing on switch? That has longer load times which probably don't affect this but it's slower.

Are you playing on Wii U disc as opposed to download? Download is faster for the same reason.

We might need a video to know what you're talking about if it's not the above.

Is this run supposed to be glitchless or did you not come up with a route that uses many glitches? I'm going to try to think of a better route that takes advantage of the game more with things like DoT Skip and doing things out of order. This run is basically glitchless without many glitches but with moonjump.

Examples of things: Would it be possible to do Boat Skip with moonjump? We wouldn't skip hookshot as that would be slower when it came to Morpha. Skip hover boots, as you can moonjump anywhere you'd need them to get to. Can you do adult deku->shadow with moonjump as opposed to an action swap ground jump from a hover? If so you might want to do that if boat Skip with moonjump without entering the hover boots room isn't doable.

Anyway, I want to know if you've ever seen a normal all dungeons run also. I'd go watch the WR and base your route off of that route (note that getting eyeball frog as he does is N64 1.0 and 1.1 exclusive, and the fastest VC run is ZFG's)

Note that moonjump doesn't solve all your problems with hard glitches: you would still need to escape the forest and skip the door of time without it I believe. But you can replace Spirit hover, shadow early, water temple BK skip and hoverslide (for BK Skip, jump to the top of the door and jumpslash probably, if not the standard hover isn't too hard), the Megaflip in Jabu, and the hookshot jump in DC becomes a moonjump, just to name a few. Basically you can skip so much more than what you're skipping right now with more glitches and a better route. An example might be explosiveness Jabu, since you might be able to jumpslash the switch in the first room, hover over the gap (with Ruto maybe) to skip Octo, and hover over King Zora to get over that in the first place. That might reroute the beginning child section.

Also no, you do not need Zelda's lullaby. Skipping it is one of the defining characteristics of All Dungeons, and there's no reason why you shouldn't either.

Hope this helps. Good idea for a thing, but I'm personally not interested and I don't believe it will ever get a category here or on OoTMemes.
