is there a reason my game runs slower then? how would i go about fixing that? if you dont mind me asking

I've noticed my game runs a lot slower then others when doing a run, i figure the reason why is that everyone sets their fps to 120 or something but i don't want to accidentally cheat by doing so. can anyone tell me what fps they are set at?
