Stunt Runner - No Disc Golf Any% - Yes Disc Golf UnderPar% - No

Here's the definition of Out of Bounds (OoB): Being outside/traveling through the walls of a map, or the inside a prop/object. The reason the skip was originally considered legal in the glitchless category is because there is no visible texture on the part of the gate people typically glitchwalk through. It was later deemed OoB because of how the screen is confined, even if it's done through the top corners. Due to this discovery, all runs with this skip in the glitchless category have been taken down. Sorry for all the confusion

Similar thought process to the double-shot

I viewed them as outdated/unnecessary rules that rejected what most people considered "glitchless." It was also a pretty small/underplayed category by the high-level players, I don't think there was even an S+ ranked run.

@ActualBiscuit The main concerns are that you are forced to play with 5 other people, and there is no igt. If I can get some good reasons why it should be added, mainly addressing the two issues, then I'll consider creating a category.

Let me know your thoughts. I asked a fairly small discord server and there was about an even number of yes's and no's so I thought I'd ask here.

@ActualBiscuit Late jumps are allowed, but the point of this post was to clarify that even though there are two separate checkpoints for the same area, you don't need to go back to go through the 2nd one.

@Fusi, I would like to preface that I mean no offense to you. But from what I can see, have heard, and am currently reading, you either have the outdated mindset of "glitches shouldn't be allowed," or a variant of it, or just refuse to let go of your records. Now, due to your willingness to use some glitches/skips but don't like others, I'm leaning on the latter. If we go with that theory, it kinda makes sense why you wouldn't want these new skips. You could use the excuse that certain bigger or newer glitches ruin the fun of the game, or don't make it watchable. You could also call them cheats to discourage others from using them. I won't claim to know your motivation, this is just the impression I have gotten from this thread and others. But what @CyclicWand was trying to say is to make a category separate from the current Any% category, so you could keep your times, and it would be completely separate from the pseudo-Any% that is currently existing. I definitely say it's the best win-win way to see the lowest times possible on the site because the old runs with the old rules stay and can still be ran.

Now to reply to some previous comments in the thread. (also gonna refer to current Any% as Any% and the new category as breaking%) @Fusi "Its playstation only so then why not allow pcvr playspace?" One is a built-in feature into the watch, the other is an add-on to SteamVR. One falls under glitch the other falls under cheat. "Also is it really fun to watch 1.30min isle speedrun" Assuming this is sarcasm, the enjoyment you get out of watching a run shouldn't matter in regards to whether it's legal or not. @OrvillesPopcorn "it might cause some fighting about what is considered to be game breaking." I imagine it would first go to the mod team, and if there is a dispute or a mutual agreement that there would be a dispute over the answer, we would leave it to a vote to the community. "But the old records would all be beaten very shortly once it got out." This is very standard in an Any% category, it happens all the time. But if I were to come up with some rules off the top of my head, I would say anything OoB, and the current glitches are allowed in Any%. Any new glitches (telewalk, piercing, etc.) would be disallowed, and reserved for a breaking%.

Gonna give a forewarning that this is my personal opinion, and does not represent the rest of the mod team.

I have no problems with platform-specific glitches/bugs. In nearly every other speed game, there is one platform that is better for speedrunning than the rest. I say the same should apply here. The usual counterargument people say to this is that 'VR is more expensive and harder to get different consoles.' Now I don't know about you, but saying people can't beat the game as fast as humanly possible (basically the definition of speedrunning) because not every platform can do it is a pretty dumb argument to pose. Why? We already practice this on the site: VR and Screen categories. Everyone can speedrun the quest they want to, but they may not have the ability to do every category as fast as some other platform.

I understand that's probably not the consensus for most, so I would propose a solution. Rename Any% to NMG, No Major Glitches, and then add a new category called Any% (if you don't like renaming the current Any% then go ahead and make the new category breaking% or whatever). The NMS category would just be the current Any% category, and any new skips would be voted on by the mod team or the community to decide if they are legal or not. The new Any% category would allow glitches that any version of the game allows to be submitted and verified, even if it's only available on one or two platforms. This does NOT mean that any external sources could be used to gain an advantage (the definition of a cheat or hacks).

Basically adding music to it or listening to music as you are running is okay. The rule is referring to completely removing or replacing audio. To address runs that break this rule, there is usually a video with game audio given to the verifiers (The main reason for this being a microphone unintentionally being on).

Apologies for not verifying anything the past week, I've been out of town. This has displayed that an extra verifier or two would be nice, so if you're interested I'd like to interview a few people. Feel free to dm me on discord at Cody#4405. Right now, I have my eye on @fire (waiting for 8 months) and @TheInferno37 (currently one of the top runners for the screen disc golf lake categories).

I feel like that's something to decide once we get to it, but off the top of my head it'd be when you load in to the moment you hit the last hole plus 5 seconds. I'd have to test exactly how long it is between when you hit the last hole and when the timer stops counting, but rn times are so far apart that I don't think we'll need to worry about it for a while.

Here are the current Glitchless% rules (you can find them by clicking on the glitchless variable then clicking rules, next to submit run).

  • No out of bounds

  • Every necessary enemy must be killed (optional enemies like the two tunnels to the left and right side of act 4 in golden aren't required)

  • No glitching in items

  • No using unintended bugs (double shot & glitchwalking are acceptable). Things like glitching in guns and the "teleport while in walk mode glitch" are not.

We aren't exactly looking to add new categories at the moment. If this page had more runners I'd consider adding new categories, but as of now it's not going to happen.

The reason his runs were rejected is because the videos had invalid links. I'm pretty sure he deleted his youtube channel, or maybe he just deleted the videos of the speed runs.

As the only active moderator of the StuntRunner SRC page, I would happily delete the page to have it integrated into this one. The reason it isn't here (and this was the opinion around a year ago) is because StuntRunner already has an ingame leaderboard which shows times.

I assumed that counted as no OoB, but yea wall clips shouldn't be allowed in glitchless. I say no clips at all, no big skips or small corner cuts (It's a lot better to have concrete rule instead of "some clips are allowed but others aren't").
