oh yeah bro pufferfish are weird. I'm pretty sure that their animation lasts longer than their actual potential to hurt you.
This seems quite normal imo. i always use this as an advantage and save a tiny bit of time.
totm is made using unity, and the "attack" hitbox of the pufferfish is inactive on the first frame its retracting animation plays.
ah also i dug through the source files of totm and found the devs called the "pufferfish" hedgehogs, but everyone calls them pufferfish anyways lol. it is quite interesting
