With the Moonrise update there is a new gamemode now that allows to manually set certain settings of the game that could be used to get a time faster. Using creative mode in a Level run of mine was accepted because the rules don't specify what gamemode you have to use. On the other hand full-game runs do that, but you can set the goal of the game to Perfection and to Domination in the creative settings menu. The only thing the other settings would be useful for is controlling map size and map type. Dryland is good to eliminate a good portion of spawns where you spawn isolated, thus requiring less time wasting attempts. And controling the map size is only relevant on runs with more than one opponent, but there it would make a huge difference probably. What do we think about this? Are they even accpeted at the moment? Either way, I think the rules should include whether creative is allowed or not.
What we could do is make a third category mode. Rather than force everyone to use creative for Domination and Glory runs, Creative could be it's own category. I would prefer this over dumping established runs. The Creative category could be home to some of the fastest runs but ultimately this game is still heavy on RNG and speed. A creative category that matches Domination and Glory would be very easy to implement on the moderators side of things.
If there isn't any traction on this subject I think that'll be the course of action we take. I would like to see what people come up with for the Creative runs especially at higher tribe counts!
There has recently been some major updates to the Polytopia game. In fact, the changes to the AI and the recent balance changes, as well as results off of the poll done in our discord server, have led us to make the decision to split Versions into 2 categories: Versions 1-51 and Versions 60+.
