For Resist%, All splits up to Dominion should be the same. At that point, R1 has been completed - you can choose to burn the 3 shards then, or wait until after you've collected more - just realize you will need to burn all 7 for the Resist ending. Most runs will probably do this in two trips, so burning the first 3 after Dominion will make the rest of the route safer.

For Embrace%, it's useful to include embracing skills in the route - especially if you aren't planning on going back through later. Here's some general recommendations (needs to be tweaked) built off the Any% route above:

General Skill Routing Guidelines
- Before R1 Mask, grab both Energy Regen nodes, and 15% Luck
- Try to grab chests along the way in early route. Shoot for 5k shards before Mask (even after investing shards)
- After Mask (in order of priority, the order you get in each set is up to you) (i need to update this with what I have been using lately)
- Get 15% damage before Dominion. Save perk slot 2 for after him unless you already have sharp edge.
- No more than 4 energy
- Focus on Crit, Crit damage nodes before Dominion/Hysteria
- Armor, 40 Shield upgrades after Dominion, en route to Hysteria
- 60 Shield, Shield delay upgrades help with Rivalry bullet spam. Focus on damage nodes otherwise.
- Save perk slot 3 for after Rivalry, and only if you have three perks worth using together
Perk combo suggestions/notes:
Sharp Edge "feels" like more of a boost early game. Assassin shines more when you have 200% or higher crit damage, and already have 15-20% base crit. I will take Sharp Edge over Assassin up to Dominion, then decide what to do from there based on perk availability.
- Dominion: 1 slot, Nemesis
- Dominion: 2 slots, Sharp Edge + Nemesis
- Hysteria: 1 slot, Nemesis
- Hysteria: 2 slots, Sharp Edge/Assassin + Nemesis
- South Lock: Berserk + Sharp Edge/Assassin/Shield Piercer
- Rivalry: Sharp Edge/Assassin + Steel Spine
- Hordes: Berserk + Life Absorb + Steel Spine
- Final boss: Sharp Edge/Assassin + Steel Spine + Rebirth
