To Skip the Snake and be able to go to the door directly you need to do some things. When starting a new game you firstly need to beat the snake once and pick up the key. After doing so you can go to level select and restart as often as you want. The Hex data for the key doesn't change after restarting levels only after starting a new game. This is what makes the glitch possible.
