Is there any difference between the Japanese or USA version of this game?

In my opinion,no because there is no text in SMB in general besides the Peach text after the run ended. They should be the same speeds. The only reason why Japan games are used is because of faster text speeds. So,no.

@Nin_Wolf the Japanese version is an earlier version so certain glitches work in it that don't in the US release
