I think your time shouldn't be based on how fast you touched the lvl 50 checkpoint. Like what if you lagged at the last stage on the lvl 50 run. People could miss the world record just because it lagged but, anyways that's just my opinion.
what do you mean? i'm interpreting this in three different ways:
are you talking about like the "Loading Area..." that will appear sometimes when it changes areas? if so then i Agree i think that we should probably be timing runs to when you touch the portal at the end of stage 49 for that reason (and do similarly for 100 stage, 150 stage, etc categories) (or alternatively, subtracting the time it takes to load the area from the run time)
are you talking about ping spikes that cause the game to take a while to recognize that you touched the stage 50 checkpoint? if so, thats not how runs are timed . the run ends on the frame you touch the checkpoint, not the frame the game recognizes you did
are you talking about framerate lag spikes? if so, i dont really get it . i dont know how you would prevent that really. it sucks but theres nothing (at least that i know of) that we can do about that (correct me if im wrong)
@APlayz The loading area is there to freeze your character in place because Sand is not fully loaded yet and the developer of the game doesn't want to risk you falling through the floor and dying (which ends the run on the spot in the top level). This issue can easily be solved by loading Sand first and then going back to start your run.
As for lag frames, there's not much we can really do about that. Your best bet is putting your graphics quality on the lowest setting and other measures to increase performance.

There's a new update for Cool Obby 2 as of October 19th which adds another in-game event along with some crucial changes for speedrunning:
- Can now go from Stage 1 to Stage 250 with a button (after having beaten the obby).
