If you're going to play any version of the game (preferably the GOG/Steam versions), you should be using the 3DFX version of the game. If you look in the main game directory and find a version of nGlide that is out of date, simply delete the corresponding glide wrapper files and install the latest nGlide system-wide. This is to mitigate any potential issues you might have, and also the latest nGlide has some nice new features that make it more stable. Completely optional perhaps, but I recommend it.
