Starting runs on Undead Nightmare

Starting from a new game file:

1. Press Start to bring up the menu to select Single Player.
2. Select A button to start the game, or select Undead Nightmare if you have both that and Red Dead Redemption.
3. When the game doesn't recognise a save file, make sure you create one by pressing A so auto save isn't turned off.
4. Skip the first cutscene of Love in the Time of Plague.
5. Time starts as soon as the fade out begins when the loading screen after skipping the second cutscene stops loading.
6. Your run has now begun!

Starting from the pause menu:

1. Scroll to "Game" and select it.
2. Select "New Game" and press A to confirm.
3. Skip the first cutscene of Love in the Time of Plague.
4. Time starts as soon as the fade out begins when the loading screen after skipping the second cutscene stops loading.
5. Your run has now begun!

Additional notes:

• It's advised to add a small delay on your timer so that you can start it at the same time as pressing A to skip the cutscene. • The average delay to add from the second cutscene skip to the first frame of the loading screen fade out is 1.45 seconds (Xbox One & Series consoles). • If you press A continuously during the first loading screen after a new game start, you will bypass either the first cutscene or even both of them depending on how many times you press it. • If you are doubtful of whether or not your timer delay is correct, you can try adding a delay to LiveSplit to match with your game capture source. Additionally, If you're not running on Xbox One or Series consoles you can increase the delay of the timer since the load screen will be longer. Older consoles are largely untested with timer delay at this moment. You can also reach out to a moderator or ask for help in our community discord server. • If you bypass the second cutscene and submit a run without it being present, your time will be rejected on the leaderboards.
