That's probably because Portal 2 rules have been written really really fast (so did Portal 1 leaderboard rules) and it's not very newbie-friendly. However, the activity of Portal 1 involved that mods rewrote the rules multiple times. So, yes, the Portal 2 rules aren't very explicit, and I am for whatever helps begginer to understand rules, so yeah, why not ?
This almost isn't worth typing anything over. Unnatural was a word used to say, in short, don't be a dick and use a religious analysis of the commands within the source engine in order to undermine competition in the game. It's not a guilty or not guilty thing. It's an I-don't-want-to-compete-with-someone-like-you type of thing.
And yet after having said that, here's the thing - I would like to see the map command be a rule ONLY if people indicate that they use this in order to correct an otherwise soft-lock. It doesn't affect me or Znernicus because a soft-lock and needing to restart_level would mean a time loss too big to continue a run on.
No, you should not be able to type in map sp_a4_finale4 and say you beat the game. That's ridiculous. restart_level on the other hand is something that people should discuss. Should. It probably won't happen but if you want to put in the effort usually there's some reciprocity.
no one is going to think it's allowed, it's obvious that skipping ahead with commands is not a real speedrun
Hello, SAR Version 1.14.1 just dropped, adding a cheat command to allow experimenting with floor reportals, as well as a few fixes. You must update your game within 1 week, as after then any runs on versions of SAR that are older than 1.14.1 will be rejected.
