Well, then I would recommend making a discord :P . It's by far the easiest way to communicate with people, and there are lots of knowledgeable runners in the NSMBW discord (linked in the forum).

In that case, you're going too high. Jumping from lower on the wall and/or pressing the jump button more briefly should get you onto the platforms without taking damage.
