Hello pals, my name is Alex, and I'm from far away Russia. Some time ago I started speedrunning of Monstrum and after many attempts I got the understanding how it works. Now I share my opinions with you.
When you appear at the starting location, the first and essential step is to realise which deck are you at. You have only three variants (3rd, 5th, 6th). Also keep in mind, that Brute, for example, mostly spawn at the any deck (the same preferably) in a minute, Fiend spawns at the same deck at the minute, Hunter spawns immediately . Before you start a game, you should decide, which kind of speedrun you want to perform (Life Raft, Helicopter, Submarine, 100% or Death%). Let's have a look at each of them:
Life raft: Ideally for you is to appear at upper deck. If you spawn at the 5th deck - run down the stairs and investigate the rooms the 3/4th decks. Consider that you should seek for the Chain Spool at doors of the same side where the stairs are - opposite rooms nearly never contains a single necessary item except possible Ducttape. If you spawn at the 6th deck - search for the Power-Locked Room - it may contain Spool. If you find Barricaded door - restart the game, it means there's no power-locked door at the same deck. If you manage to obtain Chain Spool - head for the Bridge at 8th deck and search for the Ducttape. It may be on control panel, near the broken table or at the desk with three drawers. If not - check the drawers, sometimes it might be at the upper one. If you fail - quickly check the rooms of the 8th and 7th decks. If you fail - restart the game. The last step is to obtain Pump at the Life Raft area. If you fail - restart the game. When you prepare the Life Raft and Hunter is you opponent - be careful, he'll certainly come for you, so it may be wise to obtain the Radio and distract him. To save some time - jump from the 7th deck down to the 5th one behind the life raft location, but try to land on the door of the 5th deck - it'll prevent you from the death. Pro players may just jump as close to the LR gate as possible to activate the trigger just before the death.
Helicopter This route might be completed without visiting the upper decks, but it's random. For this kind of speedun it's better to appear at the upper deck, not the lower one. Run to the bridge, there might be key. If you fail - run to the life raft and the the deck - two gasoline canisters often appear on the boxes and barrels. Retrieve them and check all rooms of 7th deck - there's a big chance you can obtain key and both canisters (if not - try the room at the 8th deck). Than "jump" to the 5th deck and run fast to the 4rd deck. Check all the rooms - bolt cutters may be found there. If not - you have little time to check two rooms (they may not appear at all) at the 3nd deck or Machine Engine Room. Also you might obtain the Bolt Cutters at the power-locked door either at 5th or 6th deck. If you retrieve everything, run back to the pad. This time choose the left way - this way steam is deactivated and you won't spend time running around. Start cutting the wires and begin with the left front and then go counterclockwise, so the front right wire will be cut the last. Next - choose the left near container to try. If not - mostly the opposite container contains fuel cart. Get it off and fill it with gasoline. Open the copter door, attach pipe and start the fueling. The next part is essential - prevent the monster from entering the pad. Use steam to block it, check the direction they want to break in and block them in advance. Check the watch - you have 84 seconds to wait.
Submarine
This speedrun depends on which deck you appear. If you appear the the 3rd deck - you may be able to prepare the Sub without exiting the lower decks. Check the rooms at 3rd deck to retrieve Welder Kit and Battery, Also check 2nd and 1st deck for them. Ignore all lower-locked doors - you still need the Fuse. If everything is okay - the hardest part is left to find the HeadLight. It might be at the containers, but you must be lucky to find it. If you fail - restart the game. If you appear at the LR side: Run to the bridge to check the battery. If not - run to the life raft to check the headlight. If you fail - restart the game. When you retrieve the headlight, check all the rooms at the 7th and 8th deck. Security room is the most likely place to contain the battery. "Jump" to the the 5th deck and run to the 3rd one at the Submarine side. Check all the possible rooms - you need the Welder Kit. Also Welder Kit may be spawned at the Machine Engine Room. If you running towards Submarine lower decks and Brute is your opponent - be careful - in this case Brute appear in the one 3rd deck's room, so don't get caught! If you fail to obtain the Welder Kit there - check the 2nd and the 1st decks. If not - restart the game. Use the Welder Kit, place the Headlight, attach the battery and then run upstairs to insert Fuse (try to follow this order). Then activate the charging and get control of the cart - you can block the entrance to the charging room with it. If you fail to prevent monster from breaking the doors - run upstairs and then jump down. You have 2 minutes. If you let the monster in - let him see you or else he'll destroy the station.
100% Even if this kind of run pretend to be the hardest one (finding all 10 items across the ship seems to be an impossible task), this run has more possibility to be finished successfully. You need to know the following to apply this run. Consider the ship to consist of 4 main parts: Lower Decks, Upper Decks, Container Cargo and Machine Engine room. While you investigate the ship, you should always think where all items could be. Even if all rooms except some of them are always the different, items spawn rules are always the same, and you should know them (see the end of the guide to learn the rules of spawns). It helps you to skip the huge part of the ship in case you was able to obtain necessary items elsewhere. The best order for speedrun is Life Raft-Helicopter-Submarine. Always make sure the Helicopter is ready before you go to Submarine. If you want to save some time - lure monster away from helipad to prevent the destruction of fuel cart
Death%
If you appear at the 5th or 6th deck - run to the 7th and jump down to the 5th deck. If you appear on the 3rd deck - try to be killed by steam in the corridor.
Spawn rules for items (@ symbol means this item can be obtained behind the locked doors as well, % symbol means this item might be found multiple times without involving locked doors, "NO" means this item cannot be obtained behind locked doors, "NO+" means this item can be found only once):
Chain Spool (@): Lower decks or Machine Engine room.
Ducttape (%, NO): Mostly at upper decks. There's a chance it might spawn at lower decks as well. The chance of obtaining two Ducttapes is low
Pump (@): Near of life raft or in containers
Key (@, %): Upper decks. Chance of obtaining two Keys is very low
Gasoline cans (%, NO): Anywhere (rooms, Machine Engine, LR area)
Bolt Cutters (@): Lower decks, containers (lowest possibility), Machine Engine room (The most cruel item to obtained, really).
Welder Kit (NO+): Lower decks, Machine Engine room.
Battery (@): Lower decks, upper decks, Machine Engine room (?).
Headlight (NO+): Near the life raft, upper decks (5/6, rarely at 7th in case of Mess Hall) or in containers
Fuse (@/NO (?), %): Anywhere expect the open areas
