As someone new to speedrunning, do you trigger timer and splits yourself every time, or is there a way for LiveSplit to do it?

There is work being done towards making an automatic splitting script, but currently, splits are handled by the individual runners.

The current script only stops the time during loading screens.

For the final split, just try to make sure not to split early so we can see the timer at the time of Nonotas death.

Ahh ok, thanks! So I just hit the start/split hotkey for each section then? I'll have to watch some people to see for myself, but when do you typically split, as soon as the hp bar hits 0, or after a certain event?

It's really up to you, I think all of us do it differently actually... personally I like having splits for finishing a section and starting a boss fight so I know how long my bosses take individually (besides Tania cuz she's early on), but I usually split when a screen fades to black or I open up the menu to skip a cutscene. (thinking about it, most of my splits happen at slightly different times but I'm just used to it now)

Well, a new tool just dropped: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/728708235296768161/1061626777203654747/Little_Witch_Nobeta_1.0.3.1-1.0.5_Update.asl We now have autosplits, you still need to start the timer yourself, but this now does both load removing and autosplitting when boss HP = 0.

You don't need to use this, but it's an option that I personally find very nice.

Currently the game language needs to be set to english due to how the autosplitter detects which Boss it is.
