Title is everything. I’ll go first: Ultimate NES Remix has a in-game leaderboard for the fastest time. I saw my time was 6th or 7th place on the leaderboard. So me wanting to be on the top of the leaderboard I tried to get a better time. When I got the best time on the one stage I wanted to get the first place time on all stages.
That got me into speed running, but I’m excited to see what got you into speed running!
Well, the first thing that I heard of speedrunning from was a New Super Mario Bros. DS TAS. I can't find the video now, but one thing that I do remember was that I thought it was somebody cheating.
About 2 years ago, my sister had told me about Jaiden Animations' new video about a speedrun she did that got her a world record. I enjoyed the video, but the thing that intrigued me the most was when she mentioned "speedrun.com." I wondered if it was a real site, where people could do stuff like submitting runs and compete for world records. I put it in the search bar, found some games I liked, and then I got my first three world records.
That's basically it. :)
My social studies teacher wanted us to do 50 States Seterra and I wanted to see the fastest completion of it, shoutout to @Teoinator for holding the record
i was watching some vids associated with sr.c and got me interested so i made an account and im addicted to that website now
i was playing super mario world and other old nintendo stuff on an emulator in school and i didnt know how save states worked and i was always playing mid class so i was just trying to get as far as i could. then i found SMB speedruns, and was interested (as a spectator, not really a player) and finally i found out that a game i played a lot like years before on roblox was on this website, and ever since its been downhill
I was playing Need For Speed: Underground. And, I was thinking to myself. Why don't I try to add some Speed Runs and that is what I did. And, I am happy about that. That is why I got into Speed Running. I have been doing it for 1 year. But, it was not the best at the beginning. But, I am better at it now. And, I am happy about it as well.
