Early Strats Discussion

Hey all, some interesting tid bits I've found so far playing these past few days.

Hunter seems to have dash tech that makes you roughly 33% faster than sprinting, still slower than mount though. Considering there's a ton of areas in this game that don't allow mount however, it would be a great time save in itself.

Another strat I found, when you go to Ginormosia for the first time and encounter the Phantom Buddy, it's the only time that the Phantom who gives you double xp is permanent so you can take him to the lvl 50 shrine in the East Dryridge Desert on the mountains where you can farm an incredible amount of xp early game for many classes. Finish the first 2 challenges then leave the building, rinse and repeat. It even has a Restart option during the challenge that lets you heal for safety.

Anyone else find something cool?

Adding on more to this, the final game boss is shielded by a Wyrmheart in the main game, however the boss is still technically beatable without destroying it by going through a massive amount of Gino content. Bombs go through his shield as true dmg, so do things like poison, albeit taking awhile. Another thing you can do is bring crafter buddies for their bombs

Found a weird movement tech with the mount. This was done on the latest patch on the switch version.

After testing more you can get this semi-consistently by pressing the hunter dash and the mount at the same time twice while the weapon is out and get insane distance at times.

Awesome find! We're discussing and testing it on the discord server if you're interested.

That hunter dash-mount-unmount trick seems to work most reliably at lower framerates.

Was messing around with the unmount dash more and found a extremely consistent way to get it.

After the initial press and release of mount + hunter dash IMMEDIATELY start to hold both buttons again then release them roughly 3-5 frames after the smoke cloud appears for the mount.

The timing seems to effect the distance traveled not slopes (although terrain could play a part in it), getting the unmount dash on the last possible frame seems to be why you get a massive boost sometimes.

Now the window for this is still extremely strict and hard to get 10/10 times but the best way of practicing this for me was to use the motorcycle mount Napdragon Cruiser (for the clearer sound effects) and go to the beach to the right of Drakesnout Range.
