1.17 is likely on it's way within the next 2 months or so and I wanted to hear other peoples' opinions on whether or not 1.16 should be it's own category when 1.17 comes out or whether 1.16 and 1.17 runs should compete in the same category.

@yASIN It does matter. Just because it may not be WR anymore doesn't mean that the run doesn't matter. If that was the case, then the whole Dream situation would never have happened.

I don't want the run to be rejected, and it's definitely a huge achievement, but unless we're gonna alter the rules we shouldn't allow Illumina to use fabric api just because he's a respected player. If we start doing that, we're essentially going back 15 years to the days of no video runs accepted as a WR because they were a known player.

honestly the mods should just ban optifine entirely. it makes people mad that 1.16 doesn't have optifine yet pre 1.16 does, so they end up making stupid forum posts, and also shouldn't be allowed in the first place. the fact that an external modification that we KNOW fucks w the game is allowed just because some people can't run block game is kinda retarded.

i don't think anybody's questioning that illumina did it legit, but I think rules should be consistently enforced. if illumina used fabric API it should get rejected.

optifine is banned, and also is way different than a hacked client. a hacked client literally changes the entire game, AND most likely includes optifine. what is with all the "can i use optifine or hack client or pvp client" threads recently?
