So someone verified a new WR for any% today, which clearly is not any%. Its just the guy doing minigolf. This is ridiculous, as just reading the youtube title states its minigolf, as does the comment. Im asking that the run be taken down, maybe make a category like the guy suggested, and the mods wake up please. Sorry to be rude, but this is utterly ridiculous.

There are very few tricks to the run from what I remember (It has admittedly been a long, long time). I would just watch World Record and do what they do. The one thing I will say is getting the rocket boost (whatever its called. the color bur that trails you) makes you go a bunch faster. Other than that, I can't be much help sadly. I haven't don a run since, well, whenever my run was done lol.

The reason separate categories was not made was mostly due to the fact that so little of the route would have changed. Had the new gate skip without DE not been found, it is likely this is what would have occurred. With so little changing however, it didn't seem to require a whole separate category.

First off, i would like to remind everyone here that we should try to keep emotions out of this. That being said, I'm for keeping DE in.. I go much more in depth in my pastebin ( http://pastebin.com/i1CB7qav ), but essentially Disc Ejecting doesn't save much, if any time, so in theory, if someone wants a faster time, they would not do it. Plus, the argument that not every version can do it I find ridiculous, as PSTV has much faster loads than other versions, yet we don't time out loads (Im not suggesting we do either, just stating it for the sake of the argument.) As for making it a separate category/variable, i find that ridiculous, as the time difference would be miniscule and the route wouldn't change whatsoever.

most people use controller, except for outback safari where keyboard is much faster. However, some people use keyboard the entire run. If you haven't already btw, I would join the TY discord. people check it more often. there's a permanent invite link in the TY series forum

Is it possible you are just pressing the wrong button? Otherwise, I genuinely have no idea what the problem would be.

all cutscenes can be skipped on PC. I'm not really sure why there would be trouble with that. what cutscenes specifically can you not skip?

tbh, rugrats should have a discord group, if it doesn't already. would make it easier for things to be organized.

It wouldn't save that much time. the level itself only takes 2:30, so i estimate time save at maybe a minute. Anyways, I'll come back to this game once I get a GC copy.

they both have the same stats. I believe the reason has to do with Coco's hitbox being easier to work with and less funky, therefore you hit less stuff, however I might be wrong.

Perhaps i am being misunderstood. I am able to stream my console with my pc, however with me having only one monitor, it is difficult for me to play a pc game and stream at the same time. As for the different consoles, that is something every speedgame deals with. Also, while i would agree that no category is needed, i have found that people are more likely to run a category if it is on the speedrun.com page. Besides, i just don't see any reason why any% Console can't be a miscellaneous category, or why console runners are essentially being discouraged from running due to them not being allowed to post times here.

On the other hand Imita, I would consider you to think about the following. First, when everyone thinks about portal, they do in fact think about the pc version. However, there are some people who instead play it on console. While I am well aware they are a minority, the fact of the matter is is that they do exist. Plus, console runs could bring a new, interesting twist to portal speedrunning that no one has really explored. I highly urge you to reconsider and make it at the very least a console option, or else I will simply submit it as a separate game. I think that would be dumb, but if it is the only way for console runs to get represented, then it will be done.

The point of speedrunning is to beat a game as fast as possible, regardless of how interesting or not interesting it looks. Not everyone has a strong enough pc to be able to run portal and stream/record at the same time, and as such, I would like to run on console, and I see no reason why I shouldn't be allowed to do so.

I would like to do a run of portal, but on the orange box for xbox 360. Is it possible to at the very least make 360 an available console to choose, and at most, make console any% a separate category, seeing as pc is able to do many things that console is unable to do.

I'd like to peedrun this game, but in a potential no lap glitch category. could that be a thing?

For the all 6 boards (battle royale/tag battle), the rules do not specify if you need to win each board. Also, why is all 6 boards (duel battle) a category? Thats what star battle arena is, minus a few cutscenes and the final minigame. It makes no sense to exist.
