Hi! The Dishonored (2012) moderation team has been looking at changing up our leaderboards for quite a while (moving categories around and into subcategories while making a few new ones), but have put it off as we haven't been able to find a good, safe and managable way to switch things around. There is over a 1000 runs we currently have to move manually to the new setup and considering we don't want to lose any runs including obsoletes, we hope there might be a way for a site admin to help us move all runs through the site back end.
If we don't hear back before Saturday we will continue with our plan of doing it manually, but it would be super helpful if we could have someone look at this with us. Unsure of where to write this, so did it here :)
This covers it, you can also check the KoD any% record for a strat that fixes it in a slightly faster way
Also, remember that you can speedrun anything you want, even without a leaderboard :3
I am personally against a IL leaderboard for dishonored, mostly because of the mana system. Would an IL run allow using all bonecharms and full potions every time? could you do campbell starting with full ability upgrades? What about intermissions, do they count? The lines become very arbitrary, and considering most levels start with a 30 second cutscene it sounds rather less fun than full game runs.
Their leaderboard for speedruns is generally more optimized for main categories such as EEs over there. People keep claiming their runs to be WRs as they have no knowledge of the other leaderboard existing. Speedrun.com even has direct support for external leaderboard sites in the sidebar.
I don't attribute this to malice, but I do find it confusing.
Why isn't it linked? :)
I made this sheet with a lot of help from @rexy that will help us know what the potential of any% can be.
Hi. I would like to request Category Extentions for the first Dishonored. I have spoken to the mod team (specifically @Cearadeth ) who are fine with it and would rather not help mod it. I am aware you have to mod the game you are requesting, but as the main modteam would like us to handle it, I am submitting. Proof of approval.
For now we have two categories with runs from several runners and a couple more categories with runs that are attempted but not finished.
Examples:
Well, there is this guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dyDwf7BhpIo1v8AEtDZTfNsrKjgo9WQrGOi1rDPuMf4/edit?usp=sharing Not sure if you'll be able to do it though, as it requires a lot of jump inputs, maybe something like buffering inputs with the quick access wheel like they were able to with leaps in dish2, but not sure.
EDIT (Jan 2020): These leaderboards have been added to the category extensions, current records are added there now.
Hi! I have created a leaderboard for Minimum Blink as it is a surprisingly good category. The current record is 44:22 with 7 blinks (very beatable! SoB is 42:43)
** Click here for the leaderboards
*Note: I do not think MinBlink should be added as a category for the game, but I still think it is a really fun run that some peepo might very much enjoy. *
I guess? I've never heard of anyone being able to get out there on 1.4 before now. Do you have a clip of that?
Repressing space at the top of that one can also help! I personally spam it a bit there if the elevator is kinda dodgy
Check this out: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DB003MiFfi_CIBFq0F5Hnjp32o4_ro2cZDkAD2fvmP4/edit?usp=sharing That covers how to do it and also a backup elevator that is only slightly slower and much easier.
Getting that all the way to the top is very rare, so rare its called god elevator. Nobody goes for that, even the world record does two elevators (but in such a way that there is no climb up animation in the middle of it. Good luck!
Corvo only goes through the roof in sewers in version 1.2, where you can clip out of bounds by going through a lot of roofs / floors. So if you only have access to version 1.4, it wont work. I don't know if you can down patch on consoles in any way
EDIT (Jan 2020): These leaderboards have been added to the category extensions, current records are added there now.
Hi! So as you might know, DCT does not have a space on the srcom leaderboards, so with some of them being decent runs, some of us made a spreadsheet to keep track of the records for each run in DCT.
The (YES) tag means a category is any% glitched, just get a time. (Mystery foe should take about a second to finish in Normal (YES)). (NO) means that you finish the mission with a success, glitchless. The "Actually good categories" are the ones that I'd recommend checking out, they're fun, the rest are kinda stupid.
