United StatesI would be very surprised if you could kill the third Fort in Towers by 3:32 with someone other than Hammer, even with perfect minion wave manipulation. It took you 1:50 to get one fort in the Zag video above (and she should be one of the fastest without camps due to Infest), and you need 3 (and have to rotate lanes to get to them all). But, I've been wrong before.
Unless doing the Sapper camps to finish buildings actually saves time with some Heroes; it's possible.
Olaf and Erik have no waveclear early, so it would have to be some really impressive wave manipulation.
There will always be one Hero who is the best for most maps and who will become boring with perfect micro on most maps.
Maps done with Sgt. Hammer have a ton of opportunities for micro refinement and are currently greatly unoptimized, such as better timing of Maelstrom Rounds to squeeze out an extra auto, perfect positioning vs. buildings to use W for damage while being out of range for being hit, and of course just better routing in general.
What's more, in most cases Hammer is not actually the fastest Hero with perfect play. It's faster to use Vikings, Zarya, Sylvanas, or others with better micro.

Is wrong. It's listed as 1972 (oldest game on the site) even though it's a flash game. I did some original research and found the oldest reference to it on the wayback machine as being February 1st 2010.

I messaged the mod for the game 3 months ago but haven't received a response.
I just fixed this, I removed the extra language from Rule 3 and changed Rule 5 to the below, for all current full-level categories except the Veteran Intro. Although come to think of it perhaps that category should be changed too, to the sum of in-game time from the frame control of the character is gained to the frame the victory condition is met, for each of the 3 stages (requiring re-timing of all existing runs for the category).
"5. The time for the run is the sum of in-game time taken across all 3 maps. If necessary, ties will be broken by timing frame-by-frame across each map, from the frame the timer hits 00:00 (no negative sign, i.e. the frame the gate opens) until the frame the core hits 0%. Unless there is a tie, do not time or report to this precision."

Anyway I just got Trial Curator status and it's officially submitted (and passed the checks to give me Trial Curator status). So it should be included in the next Flashpoint update.

It's a Shockwave game so it shouldn't work or even appear on a common modern browser. But it should work in Internet Explorer 11 which you can still download from Microsoft officially very easily, or old versions of Safari, etc.
I'm adding it to Flashpoint also (can't link here) so it will hopefully be playable forever when that site inevitably goes under eventually. Wouldn't want to lose the "oldest game on the site" (that really needs to be fixed..)

"The time of the run is the time in the video from starting condition to ending condition. It is not the time shown on the timer program, which is started and ended with human error."
If you have time to watch people's runs and verify them it only takes at most to note the starting and end time and calculate the difference. You don't necessarily have to measure it yourself to the millisecond to verify that unless there's an apparent tie for the WR, you could check to the second and trust that the millisecond value is accurate unless someone makes a complaint.
However even if you do want to measure to the frame yourself to check, you can do this pretty easily on any youtube video. You can pause and go frame by frame: period to advance 1 frame, comma to go back 1 frame. Right click the video and click "stats for nerds" and near the bottom right of the window that pops up it gives the time to the nearest hundredth of a second (any more digits than that would be more than the precision of a 60 FPS video or game).
As the site wide rules say, a timer is started and stopped with human error. You shouldn't rely on it to be accurate because of that. And, timers are very easy to fake or alter - in fact it's much easier than splicing together a video (especially with audio enabled since it would have to synchronize seamlessly).

So if you wanted to understand the story on an initial playthrough I guess at least play volume 1 first.
Volume 1 also has no runs in the Any% category. Only a couple runs in the New Game+ category.
Volume 3 only has 1 run and it's not really an optimized/competitive time. Very beatable.
It's an RPG, part of a series. Had a somewhat mixed reception on release.
It can be done much shorter than a lot of RPGs but as an RPG it's still quite lengthy compared to most games especially if not doing NG+, or putting in the work to find glitches for major timesaves/at least a very good route. So it's a significant time commitment to run, even though currently you could just do a continuous let's play and get the WR as there are no runs..

This game now only has one moderator, who has not logged in to this site for 1 year and is also completely inactive on the linked youtube and twitter accounts(for the past 7+ months). His listed Discord account no longer exists.
I have four pending runs with video, all not acted on within 3+ weeks.
Additionally as it's a continuously updated MOBA I would plan to split out the leaderboards by major patch. Most of the old records are no longer mathematically possible to beat on the live version of the game due to various nerfs over the past few years.

Earliest snapshot for the game URL is 2016, so I'd go with that. It matters because this is currently listed as the oldest game on the site.. e.g. if you search for oldest game to try to speedrun some classics you come across this.
Hi, 8b8t.xyz somehow has a page with moderators as a game on this site despite just being a Minecraft server and not a game. There are also no categories set up, or anything whatsoever on the page.

I have two pending runs both only from the last couple days, but given both moderators have been completely inactive on this site for over a year in my opinion it's safe to consider moderation abandoned for the game.
