Ah sorry I didn't spot that there is IGT. Ye IGT is likely to make it pretty hard to cheat (but never underestimate the resourcefulness of a scumbag).
"NO VIDEO SPLICES! All runs must be recorded from start to finish with no stops/cuts"
I'm not familiar with the game so I don't know what splice tells there might be (e.g. cycling animations between level transitions, continuous music during loads, etc), but you may want to set some criteria for videos, e.g. "Must include game audio", "Must be recorded in 480p minimum" etc. If there are no game features that provide giveaways for spliced runs, then it might be tricky to root them out regardless of video quality though.
Hi! Can you describe in more detail the proposed categories? Like, a daytime only category would surely just be running around the back of the house to trigger the cutscene then running back home...
Also, great run! If you are interested, there is a mobile speedrunning discord at https://discord.gg/F2fJjUg , it's a great place to find new mobile speedgames, share your progress or just chat.
Nice! Also, "Subscribe to player for PB updates" - I had completely glossed over this when reading your other post. Definitely downloading!
I haven't seen heromaster around in a while but if I were you I would do a run and submit it, and if he doesn't respond for a 3-4 weeks you can ask a site mod to be added as a moderator for the game.

Consider mobile. Lots of free games and (contrary to popular belief) a lot of them are credible. If you want any recommendations then let me know what genres you like and whether you are on android or ios.
My personal opinion would be a general subcategory and accept some messiness in the non applicable categories but if you want to keep things neat then I'd be happy to share the load in creating the subcategory for half the levels if you wanted to make me mod temporarily just for that purpose.
Hi Sw0rdnes, thanks for posting and great to hear from someone else interested in running this game!
The triple jump has been the subject of some debate. The biggest issue I would take with your list is that it is not easy for everyone to do. The difficulty seems to vary across devices and on some (including mine) it is impossible. I have tested and experimented it to death and have never once gotten a triple jump. Accordingly, it's not quite the same as the other glitches
The above said, the MOC instakill is also device dependent and (for instance) much more consistent on my device than on zarcatus'. There is definitely an argument that it is unfair to allow MOC instakill but ban triple jump because both are device dependent (this is why I deliberately didn't use MOC insta on more recent runs including my all bosses).
I'm not really keen on adding a further subcategory for with / without triple jump as the boards are already over-heavy on categories and light on runs.
Zarcatus and I were chatting recently and think this is probably worth a vote. Easiest way of doing that is in the discord which you will see linked on these boards, so please join!
Speedrunning owes you a debt kirkq. Wishing you the best of luck in the future.
Please could the marathon date / time in the 'About' page be shown as an absolute rather than a countdown? I have tried changing my settings but it does not seem to affect it (unless I am being stupid, which is quite possible).
I usually understand the term 'segmented run' to mean that someone has grinded runs of each segment to try and optimise each one independently, and combined the end products, whereas OP is not suggesting that there will be any 'do-overs' of any parts of the run (so if he messes up, it still ends up in the run and affects the time). Might the term 'multi-session run' be a more accurate description of the proposal?
Messages - Coming Soon TM is a heart warming meme at this point. Please keep.
What speedruns have you personally attempted? A lot, please see my profile for a full list. My main game is Swordigo.
How long have you been speedrunning for? 3 years.
What platform do you use? Do you use any specific equipment or software? I run on my Android phone (Note 9). I use the Mobizen for Samsung app for recording and UncleRonny's Floating Speedrun Timer for timing / splits.
How do you prepare for a speedrun? If I'm trying out a new run then I look for anything helpful on src / YT / general internet, make / learn a route and just start attempts. For the runs themselves I just get in a comfortable position and make sure (as best I can) that there is nothing likely to interrupt me.
How do you stay composed during your run? What do you do if you fail? I remember that failed or slow runs are still good practice. If I fail I just reset, if there's time. If I am getting wound up I just stop and do something else.
How seriously do you take speed running? Seriously in as much as I try hard to improve and spend a lot of time making notes before doing runs, but not seriously in that I never really get too upset or treat it like an e-sport.
What do you do in emergency situations for example toilet/snack breaks? I don't play anything long enough to make toilet breaks or snacks a real concern. For emergencies like house fires, bear attacks or flash floods I stop playing and find safety.
I feel your pain. I once had got a massive LotF PB only to see the stream fail literally during the final boss death animation two seconds before the end time.
How did you get started here? What/who lured you in? I saw a Lobosjr run of Lords of the Fallen on YT and enjoyed it, so I tried speedrunning it myself and became interested in other speedgames and the wider community.
What's the most important thing in speedrunning? Whats the ultimate goal? It's personal to each runner but for me the most important thing is the community, I wouldn't be doing this if I had to keep all my runs, strats and thoughts to myself. The ultimate goal for me is to achieve a time that I am happy with in games I enjoy running.
Do you play or just watch? Why do you like it so much? I play and watch, although when time is at a premium I tend to prioritise practice over watching other people's runs (except for runs that need verification). I also spend a lot of time in discords talking with other runners. I like it because things are always changing, there is normally something new going on like a new strat or a glitch or a new game being explored, and it's fun to get your teeth into that kind of thing with like minded people.
How has speedrunning and/or this community impacted your life? Speedrunning is a massive part of my life and constitutes my main pastime outside of work/family. It means that I never usually run out of something to do, like a new game to route or a PB to try for, or 'speedmin' (speedrunning admin - trademark pending) to catch up on. I have made some good friends at the mobile speedrunning discord ( https://discord.gg/F2fJjUg in case anyone was interested) and there is always someone online there to chat with if I feel like it as well as competitions and suggestions. The impact has not been 100% positive though. Speedrunning (especially the peripheral aspects like discords etc) can be addictive and all consuming (for me personally at least) and unless I am disciplined it can impact on my concentration and the quality and amount of time I spend on work, family and irl friends. Sometimes I feel like real life is getting in the way of speedrunning when it is actually the other way around. There are also times (which I think most runners get) when you wonder why you are doing it especially when you are running an inactive game or grinding for hours just to make small timesaves. Usually this sense of futility is replaced pretty quickly by excitement when a new glitch gets found or something else happens. This kind of thing isn't uncommon for hobbies, sports and anything which is fun but takes time, but I think it is a problem that is especially pronounced in speedrunning because it is so naturally time consuming.
Please can UncleRonny's Floating Speedrun Timer for Android ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=il.ronmad.speedruntimer&hl=en ) be added to the Resources-Timers list? It is currently the best on-screen timer option on mobile.
