Retort
- Kind of like OOT, they still have the timer active during that opening cutscene. so why not. It is also the first input you do. 2 & 3 - make total sense.
So since new versions are coming out. I am only keeping the current 2 versions on leaderboards. anything else goes to old versions
I can, just have the run done before I put up the leaderboards
Do we know if any other walls are like this, could this maybe help in a speedrun (eventually) if other walls are like this
Well personally I didn't accept the run, but i understand.
And yeah when someone gets sub 12 without being around the community for long. I personally go through the video multiple times to see if someone is off or wrong (to me at least) and if i feel like something is off discuss with other mods and runners to see if they think something is fishy before acceptance.
This is why I wanted feedback first before trying to implement anything to the rules
Yes, times that get super lower definitely need that video evidence. Which is why I feel like sub 12 should kind of be the split between not needing video proof, to needing video proof. It is a low enough time that you still need to put in a decent amount of attempts to get it. (Also a good example, look at SGDQ2016 where 3 runners, all with sub 12 times in PB's. Only one got under 12 mins). And yes I understand about the whole capturing is hard for console. I could see more people playing on emulators if they are really wanting that sub 12 time.
And unfortunately Charmander's run would be removed.
Problem with any run under 11:25 should be streamed, is that some people like doing offline attempts and only have local recordings of what they do. Should they be denied that run because they didn't stream that attempt, i believe not.
Old Rules
Timing starts when pressing start at the title screen. Timing ends on final hit on Dedede. Using Config Mode is banned.
Allowed emulators: bgb and gambatte.

Would like to hear feedback. Thank you
No problem. I'm learning this as well. I have tried to finish an Any% run at AGDQ2016 for like 8hrs. Couldn't complete it. Dracula is a jerk
it is a weird trick but the comment that I used to learn was
"The trick is basically to do the spell input the very frame you enter the screen transition (I dunno if it's actually frame-perfect, but it is fairly specific). The way I input it, is by doing most of the half circle before I push the jump button, so when I'm mid-air, I basically only have to time up -> attack for the transition. To put it short, down -> right -> jump -> up -> attack."
My only concern was would have liked to had the streaming guide a few days before (as someone that hadn't used RTMP before). But besides that, little hick-ups with the run, still don't know where it came from, but overall still had fun.
How will streaming work? Will we stream to a hitbox account and you restream it?
Also, just cleaned up the forums a little bit. Threads that weren't going to be active/useful.
Yah... I fucked up, and it didn't want to set them back to older... so i'm manually going through right now to fix it all. If anyone really cares about older versions videos not being there anymore, tell me. Cause i'm not doing anything else tonight beside moving them.
So as a viewer/moderator of chat... few things and I will start with things to improve on
Would have liked a little bit more use of the NASA twitter, especially when you guys were having trouble with the internet. As most of us in chat were in the dark about the situation.
Internet was well... that thing.
Chat. For the most part as mod I only really timed out people that were spamming. But then people got mad about that. Would have liked a little bit more of a guildline besides the one rule of don't be a dumbass.
- Good things -
Setup buffers. Very useful, but probably would like to see them more integrated as say, 5-10 mins between each run, instead of 4hrs a day.
Layout was super clean, so that was nice.
Game selection was good, besides a few shitters here and there.
overall, hoping to see a even better marathon next year.
For RTA, it will start at create new character (like to start the first screen) and end at probably the last Mission Complete (which i believe we stated as General Assembly).
For 100% it would probably end with Unknown Signal.
