Also a full mod recently stepped down (idk how much they helped with requests though).
You need to contact the mods of the game, they’re the ones that make those decisions and rules.
Older thread, but I think it might still be relevant to that https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/obs-studio-high-quality-recording-and-multiple-audio-tracks.221/
I never dove deep into OBS so it might be different now but that might be a good starting point.
Some mods can verify your fastest time but reject the other times to make it easier for them. It won't affect you bad but yeah.
No, no mods should ever do that. Don’t ever reject a run just because someone also has a faster time waiting verification. Always approve every run (unless it has a legit reason to be rejected of course). A lot of people want to be able to track their improvements, so don’t start rejecting stuff if they have multiple ones waiting.
The sound issues I’ve never heard of, sounds like one you borrowed was a little busted. But amarec can be used to deinterlace the video before it gets into OBS to make it cleaner/sharper or like Dangerless said it can grab the raw video in 60FPS.
You can record locally while streaming with OBS.
It’s worth noting Amarec is pointless nowadays so I wouldn’t even worry about that anymore. Just use OBS and you’ll be fine (I think EvilAsh added a note about that to the doc).

If you’re that concerned about it, bring it up with the actual HL runners https://forums.sourceruns.org
I’m pretty sure you pick the directory to save them. If not, I think they’re saved in a folder at the same directory level as the executable. It’s been a while since I used LS so I’m not 100% on that (or on what it’s all named) but I’d start by searching in the folder you run it from.
That game was added before stricter rules were put into place for requesting games. An ending for a game is literally what it sounds like a - the game ends definitively.
Also, no reason to make the same thread twice 2 minutes apart.
A timer is for convenience only, it’s not required as long as you can accurately get the time another way (timer not on screen, frame counting, etc). There might be random games that require one, but it’s probably not many.
It’s also worth noting that a lot a PS2 communities don’t allow emulator or have it in its own category. PS2 emulation is hot garbage, it can vary day to day even on the same computer. It also loads faster than console so it provides a lot of inaccuracies that lead to it being banned or split out. So, don’t get too upset if the community says you can’t use it.
As an aside, a gv-usb2 is probably the best standard def capture card you can get and it is only about $40 USD. I highly recommend it as an affordable capture card that can capture every console except current gen.
Yeah with those specs, I doubt you could handle a game with an emulator and streaming at the same time (and capture cards won’t have drivers that old).
Also, it’s not “don’t stream on shit hardware”, rather you need minimum specs to be able to do it (just like anything) and one of those is to not use an OS that’s over a decade old and no longer supported by modern software or even its company lol.
It depends how it’s being made region free. Some community’s allow the use of Swap Magic since it’s just some extra software to bypass region locking, however this PS2 looks more questionable than that. This looks like it’s running some kind of custom homebrew and that might be a bit more of a question mark. Custom homebrew might have more effects on games than something like Swap Magic.
It’s still up the community obviously, but be careful with it because you can’t assume every community would be okay with something this modded.
Yes, that’s the part that read like a bot. Random looking links in posts by users that are hours old and have no other posts are always suspicious. Plus I’d never click on anything to see if it’s relevant.
Half of this post sounds real, half sounds like a bot. I have no idea if it’s a legit user https://www.speedrun.com/Talk/thread/7hdc8
EDIT: Guy deleted his post, he was asking for a “no munny” category because other games have “coinless%”.
No, that is an impossible category to run because enemies can randomly drop money and it would be asinine to end a run because you accidentally picked up money from an enemy your partners killed.
Not to mention it would affect the run in almost no way. The only things we buy are gummi parts, so all you’d do is prolong the gummi missions (and nobody would enjoy that).
Finally, please don’t necro 2 year old threads for stuff like this.
