Just an update to this, I have decided to create separate categories for OG hardware runs and Emulator runs :) Regions will still be mixed in both categories but the platforms will be the only distinction made going forward.

This is not due to a sudden bout of any kind of platform elitism or anything like that (I honestly don't really care about that kinda thing so long as runs are legal), I'm just doing this to keep the leaderboards looking neater =)

Wow this seems way faster than the PAL version. I wonder how it behaves on an actual NTSC PS2

@ 15:29 Holy shit that grenade kill was perfection EDIT: Also congrats on pulling off that timesave tech for level 10 👍 I'm not too sure what exactly triggers it but you can consistently pull that off if you don't save a single hostage and kill those first terrorists quickly.

I fully believe it's possible to get sub 40:XX in this category!

If I'd not had bad RNG in Exec 3 and also been faster taking out some bosses, and also tighten up clearing the last 3 enemies in Vault, then I reckon it'll be totally doable.

I have no idea why the boss in Exec 1 never spawned for me or what I did to cause that... it's bizarre

I've essentially based my categories for this game on other leaderboards I've seen posted here that allow run submissions from EM and OG Hardware in the same category.

With any runs that get posted here you can choose to specify if you've run the game on OG hardware or an emulator, but they're all operating under the assumption that people running this game will be running either NTSC or PAL roms at the console's stock speeds, and not using any settings to artificially speed them up and cheat.

All runs submitted are played as they would originally be intended to be, the exception to this would be any glitched any% runs.

I don't think separating EMU runs it into it's own category would be something I'll be doing for this leaderboard for now, but if needed I may put further clarification in the rules about emulation.

I'm always open to feedback to help improve this category!

Died a few times and lost time having to backtrack and also because one level the last enemy didn't spawn. Definitely can be improved upon

I've taken a look at both Big_Jim and Tezur0's vids and have tried to go through the game level by level, and really nail all of the tricks as best I can.

So far my best time in-game is 53 mins, but I know if i can get the Harpy Surfing down and keep running through the levels I can tighten it up and shave my time down by a lot more.

Ideally aiming for a 45 if I can. will also have to learn about using splits and such.

P.S. Sorry for the late reply, life atm for me is a little mental.

I'm completely new to the speedrunning scene, but have always wanted to get involved after watching various AGDQ's, but have not been sure how.

As part of my YT Channel, I've been challenged to speedrun Serious Sam HD TFE, and it'll be the first time I've ever attempted running a game, so I'm very excited!

So i'm just looking for some advice and pointers for

• How much time I'd need to put into practice
• Some way's to improve my skill level
• and just in general some advice about the game and speedrunning
