Hey all, so for those not aware yet, we have added an extensions leaderboards on speedrun.com Shine Thief has already been migrated to the extensions leaderboards and we plan do add more categories to those leaderboards so if you got ideas, be sure to post them on the forum thread at https://www.speedrun.com/mk8dxce/forum
Now here's the next part. We also had plans to migrate 32 Tracks to the extensions but did not do so just yet. Since the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, 32 tracks has sort of become a legacy category due to the 48 tracks option being available to everyone, not just those who paid for DLC like in MK8U. For some community members, it didn't make sense to have this category anymore in Deluxe, because 32 Tracks would be able to be completed with Retro and Bonus Tracks for example, or Bonus and Nitro. Instead of moving 32 Tracks right away, we decided it would be more appropriate to vote on this as a community.

You can still use inside drifting vehicles and submit those runs to the according category
Hey, while we do have a French mod, it would make it a lot easier if you could make your post in English
Additional categories can be requested here: https://www.speedrun.com/ootextras
People make their own splits. They're not really stored in the program itself
So basically farming coins in VS mode for hours and then unlocking everything in the menu? Imo that sounds pretty boring but feel free to try it out yourself
@Lusonice2021 your runs will get verified eventually. there's no need to make a forum post for it
Ill accept emu runs but they'll have to be accompanied with video proof
Its possible to see names under Statistics but the graph is insanely small because of the number of categories. Here's what it looks like on other games http://prntscr.com/kmwthw Other than that, there's nothing we can really do about it.
Hey, thanks for the interest. We're currently with enough mods to do the work needed. If we are ever in need of new mods, we'll be sure to make a post on the forums and make a Discord announcement.
I remember back from MK8 on Wii U that switching from disk to digital kept my save files. I would assume that would be the same for the Switch too.
In terms of deadzone on an N64, it's the same as a regular N64 controller. Its alot more durable too so buying that wouldnt be a bad choice
One way is to check the audio waves like this Other than that there's alot of tiny things that are hard to explain. The Apollo (cheated) run is a good example. His loading times we're questionable and so was the frame rate + the background noise being really weird. We rejected the first submission he did and accepted the 2nd one. Our plan was to wait for a few days and see if he would post any improvements since he talked with a mod about doing that. But he didn't so by the time we wanted to remove the run, it was already gone.
The other small stuff I was talking about are stuff like the cursor and menu (like in TSA's splicing).
Your recordings don't have to be done with a capture card. You could record it record it with your phone and re-time the run afterwards for example.

You can always take a look at what the top runners use as a setup. Not sure if any one them use inward though
Me and Balatee (old runner) did a few child dungeons runs where we never pressed Z. You can get yourself in a sort of Z state if you throw the boomerang. That way you can backflip etc but also do megaflips without using Z
