i mean realistically what's the difference between 2 and 3 lol
Hello EirgottTV_X2!
From my experience adding another category would cause the few runners who would do a category like 1000 levels to simply swap to doing 500 levels if even, causing the same 'inactivity' problem you currently describe but even worse because now there's 2 categories no one runs. It's always really fun for everyone when there's competition going on but from my experience if people don't want to run a speedrun a category they won't regardless of how many variants you make. If there's significant interest in this category I don't think we'd be against adding it, but I doubt the audience for 500 levels would be much different from the existing (small) 1000 level community (although if tons of people do runs for it I think I speak for the mods in saying we'd be happy to add it). I do think it'd be nice for the people running 1000 levels to have a point where they can stop half way if they're happy with their time or not, but i'm not sure if we'd really need to add a board to make that checkpoint available. Feel free to do a 500 level run regardless if that's something you want to do and if the board is added we can always add your run to it later. Thanks for the suggestion!
this would be a neat lil site feature if it was added officially (idek if I did any real speedruns this year other than a lil bit of mario kart, been a busy year IRL)
that's all I wanted to know @YUMmy_Bacon5 lol, thx for the info dump. honestly thought some people were closer to me in terms of post count on here but IG I do reply to people a lot. also funny seeing that the most liked posts are all just from the first page (which makes sense). pretty cool that were got more individual people having posted on here than there are pages (atm w/ 87 people on 71 pages), sometimes it just feels like I just see the same 5 names in here but 87 overall is quite a high number, I feel like that's everyone who's been active on the forums.
tf u mean y am i curious, how does someone even explain their curiosity
can one of the fellas who scrapes data on SRC check how many individual people have posted on this thread i'm curious lol
the second idea of seeing how many levels you can beat in a certain amount of time isn't really a speedrun, it's more of a highscore and should be on cyberscore or something like that.
each game would add its own time I'd imagine. so if you had 4 instances you'd like 4x the time. however most boards likely have this banned by default or have separate categories for this. you should ask the mod for whatever game you want to play though.
