The time could go below 4:54, if there is a humanly-viable setup for the full flag pole glitch on PAL and if it's not made a seperate category then.
First I load it in Avidemux or Virtualdub.
for time with loads: -I go to the first frame on which the first piece is moved. -I cut all previous frames. -I go to the first frame where the King is in checkmate and read the time. for time without loads: same as above but I also cut all frames with the hourglass visible
So why is the Goldeneye leaderboard not deleted, if it's so irrelevant that the admin can't even be bothered to enforce the rules that apply to any other leaderboard on it?
After 30 framerules (~10.5 seconds) the difference is still below 0.02 seconds. It's negligible.
It's a constant screen transition without any input besides holding Start. It cannot be compared to the difference in SMB1, where you need to do different strats and the exact time difference would be very hard to determine, and it cannot be compared to VC, where the lower framerate makes the game (in theory) easier.
reminder that it will start in 1 week
No, I asked him some time ago if he has a video and he said he doesn't.
I think most PC ports definitely don't need a seperate category. Imho Apple II as the original platform and some console ports like NES or GBC can become seperate categories if they get multiple runners.
There can't be a category for all the over a dozen platforms it was released on, but the 2 categories I set up are definitely not set in stone. If you have any recommendations how to organize this or want to be mod, just write here in this thread.

Note that the timing rules are different from this leaderboard:
- Timing starts on pressing Start on the titlescreen.
- Timing ends when Peach's finishing speech has finished.
- Highscore is used as a tiebreaker at second ties.
