I have spoken to Toji about this in the past in regards to DDD HD and the timer rule. He said you guys discussed it and agreed to keep the rule as it stands.

I originally spoke to toji in regards to this because I saw a couple of people trying extremely specific and complicated stream setups to prevent having to restream every single run for PS4 streamed runs specifically, i.e. streaming to another stream service then capturing the stream feed to stream it to twitch so they can have a timer on screen.

This is what first led me to think that the "timer being required" rule was being intrusive upon peoples enjoyment on speedrunning. I can understand having it for a moderation point of view to require a timer on screen but isn't it a mods job to validate every run that is submitted regardless of timer being on screen or not. Just to clarify by "validation" I mean checking the start and end points of a run then maybe a few random points in the run for consistency sake to ensure the run is valid possibly even retiming a run if you feel it necessary due to video quality or you feel that it was timed incorrectly. If that's too much to ask of the people who are meant to run the leaderboard then why are you a mod? No malice is meant by this just pointing out if you are not willing to go the extra mile why did you even want to be a mod.

I do agree with Succinct with the rule being unneeded and stupid but I do fully understand why its there from the mods point of view, to make your life's easier, but I have only seen this rule in this and ONLY this community. Take the Ratchet and Clank guys in regards to Ratchet and Clank (PS4) most of the runs that have ever existed and some current runs are straight PS4 streamed runs with no timer on screen and they don't seem to have an issue with it. If they don't why do we? If its to make your life easier why not split mods up into specific groups to deal with specific groups of games, such as say Jhobz and Sonic deal with KH1 (all versions) this week then maybe say BBS (all versions) the next week, to split the workload if it becomes overwhelming.

That's my take on the subject. I know the Ratchet and Clank guys are a different community but if they can function with their rules like that why can't we? Just a small question I'd like answered in regards to this.

Technically exp zero is a hidden property/side effect of having it equipped so I do not consider it a "glitch" since it was intended to be that way.

What we are talking about here is not something that was intended by the developers.

Just my opinion of exp zero.

And yeah sub-categories is winning at the moment.

It just needs a main RoD tab and 2 sub tabs, one for sc and one without, that's it

I agree with both nanner, rebel and timmi. It can be looked at as pointless since we are just timing a load screen and an animation and I feel it would look cleaner like rebel does.

I'm not saying that the fact that it makes it easier/saves time is the reason for the separation. I know how easy RoD RTA really is but the fact you use a corrupt save to do this is really what makes me feel separation is needed.

This is a completely different case than nanner's route in Aqua beginner, Nanner's route for aqua beginner doesn't use a "glitch" to go faster it grinds to a point where you do major damage to everything.

I am not saying split them because one is faster than the other its based on the way to achieve the file, the save corruption, to me anything that uses save corruption should be separate. The fact is you use a glitch to achieve is what makes me want them to be separate.

But the fact you do more damage makes it completely unfair to those who don't want to save corrupt for whatever reason, that makes it certainly a category split.

For me save corruption should always be a different category.

I'm fine with whatever happens but would be a little disappointed if they were the same category.

Since you are corrupting your save to force the game to give you a lower battle level it should really be its own category, to me it doesn't matter if people run it or not but due to the circumstances of how to activate this it really should be another category.

I will understand if you just add the variable but I really do feel like this "glitch" is too major to mix in with the older runs.

Its high 33-34 for terra, mid 34-35 for ven and aqua (with good loads)

I agree that this would be an issue gold. We would have to implement rules such as "Videos MUST include start and end screen" or "Videos must start from main menu or include the end screen" and since we would see difficulty on main menu or on the end screen. I believe that would alleviate that from being an issue if we did change the timing to this method.

I really do think it should be this way, since in nearly every other game with a character select start on the character select screen. Another thing to note is that if you don't play the tutorial the IGT doesn't really start until after you have picked the character. We also stop timing before IGT finishes so I personally don't think it matters.

I understand that it is the way it is currently for consistency with the other games in the series, but I really feel that this would be a better way to time this game.

One of my personal favourite Kingdom Hearts game to watch since all runners have different ways of doing each run.
