You can set up the load remover to automatically split for you, so you wouldn't need to assign any keys besides a reset key if you'd like. If you aren't using the autosplitter or you have some sort of split that's not covered by the autosplitter (i.e. splitting after a balloon), you will need to set some key that you can easily press that doesn't do anything in game. I personally use one of my side mouse buttons. Also, be sure that global hotkeys is on, otherwise it won't work.
To actually turn on the load remover, simply go into the "edit splits" tab, make sure your game is set to "Mad Max" and then click "Activate" where the autosplitter button is. You will not need to install the load remover externally at all. If you want you can by checking it out in the resources tab. You can then go into the settings of the autosplitter on livesplit and change stuff around if you'd like.
A capture card is not needed, especially if you are playing on pc. The load remover and autosplitter does not work if you play on console. If you are playing on console without the autosplitter, you don't need a capture card as long as whatever you are using to record the gameplay is good enough to still see the important information somewhat clearly. This can be done with a camera or a phone, whatever is easier for you.
To actually set up OBS, a lot of it is up to you. If you are capturing livesplit (which isn't required so don't feel obligated to include this), just use a window capture. When capturing the game on pc, you can use "Game Capture" or "Display Capture" whatever works best for you.
Otherwise, there's really not a whole lot that's actually required. Obviously a capture card and including livesplit will make it easier and quicker to verify, it's not necessary if you don't have the ability to do so.
the history on src is kinda dumb in that it also counts the record at the end of each day. So if you both submitted on the 10th, then it would go to whoever had the fastest time, not who submitted first. If you finished the run on the 9th or earlier, you can ask the mods to change the date on your run from the 10th to the 9th (i would also just message them directly in that case).
what's the discord server you guys are in, i'd rather just talk there
okay, maybe i misunderstood how the random games work then. That's my bad
oh you meant random holes, not random wind seed. Yeah, that's also just not a good category because it just comes down to how many par 3s you get.
He went to the other wii series mods. How is he making it more difficult?
9 holes already is a category.
We've already discussed in the past that online runs are nearly impossible to moderate and legitimize.
3pt contest will likely be added soon, update just got added yesterday so you just need to be a bit more patient

Flepty is the only mod. Theriverp hasn't even been online in 6 months, is not in the discord, and can't be unmodded by flepty. Flepty is the only person that can even verify their runs, idk who else you expect to do that.
-
Disabling the comments was not Flepty's decision. He came to the other mods and we suggested to him to disable comments which he was reluctant to do.

Again, you literally joined src today, haven't done a run on src and you are the one trying to call him out. Not sure if you're an alt but, again, it's just not that serious man. Stop harassing Flepty over something they can't control. You are not making a better case for yourself here.
there's plenty of evidence out there that proves flepty does not do this and has never done this before. Flepty has been a huge help in the nss moderation scene and to see the recent backlash against them is really upsetting. Flepty takes their position very seriously and is the sole reason why runs can be verified within two days most of the time. Sometimes, it's just not that deep man. Also, you just joined src in May and haven't even joined the speedrunning discord server where everyone else is. At this moment, there is zero reason why we should trust you over everyone else to verify these runs.
The new updates for the game have made many of the normally slow parts of the run much faster. While it would require coming up with a slightly different route, 3.1 could be just as fast as release version
I like the idea of this category, would prefer there to not just be some random "%" at the end of the category name tho for no reason. Maybe something like "All Depths Collectibles" would be more suited.
It has been talked about before, not this exact version of this. No human has ever done this let alone in a speedrun setting. There have been two versions of 100% that have been discussed by runners of the game:
Option 1: -All Platinum Medals -All Pro -Beat All Champions
Option 2: -Complete All Objectives stored by the Wii Message Board (i.e. perfect game, pro status, hole in one, etc.)
These are very difficult runs however so there isn't really much willingness to run these by any of the runners. Anyone who wants to can if they want and these categories will most likely be added to the boards, whether that be the main boards or the category extensions board
we currently don't have any plans to add this as many of the training games are practically autoscrollers, leading to not very exciting runs or competition
it would, however none of the max levels are actually confirmed as of right now by the games code, this is just the highest skill level anyone has gotten
Hey, sorry for responding late but I just wanted to let you know that this route doc is already extremely outdated and was done rather quickly (hence missing a couple details like upgrades and such). I am planning on completely routing out the main objectives with the 25 combos you should be getting during the run and optimizing the scrap that we get then I will update the doc with all of the new strats and removing the outdated strats. All of the updated strats are being posted to the Mad Max Speedrunning Discord but not immediately being written down in the doc. I appreciate the feedback :)
I still don't have access to make a guide from some reason but this is the culmination of multiple hours of routing and theorizing. Sub 2:30 is very possible with this route. Some of the major changes is a new Quick Havoc Point strategy, doing Tyrant's Lash instead of Grave Bridge and Old Hole, faster Land Mover strategy, and more optimal upgrades, scrap, and challenges.
