Congrats on the record! Honestly surprised it took that long for someone to go for it
This is insane. Just an awesome run!
Beating Scorpion turned Shujinko old. Damn
So one thing I decided to mess with was the action replay and gameshark codes available for Deception which includes pretty much every DA character (excluding Blaze and Mokap), Monster, Ghost, Light Raiden and Onaga.
I'm not asking for all of those fighters be given a slot on the leaderboard (unless majority consensus wants it), what I am asking for is Onaga to be given a spot. I already have a run complete of it and I think it'd be funny to have Onaga in there, since he only has a couple of moves (including some funny bugs) that make his runs pretty fun to do.
But at least facing off against Undertaker it can be like an impossible run that may very well be impossible
I feel like a better version of the jillian vs Khali match would be to make it against a super heavyweight with a higher overall (such as Undertaker, Kane or Big Show) since it would be much harder because the weight difference is so high that it won't matter if you face a super or ultra heavyweight.
I believe it could be considered major, since it does cut a decent amount of time off, since it does skip about 10 seconds of movement from the Darrius spot to Hotaru. From a newer runner (not saying you are) this may not seem like a lot, but in reality it is.
However, I do also feel that it isn't as major as some of the skips DWednesday discovered a few months back, it all depends on what is classified as a "major skip"
Aren't the unity games relatively solid? So like warping isn't possible? I know it can be done in many other ports of the games, but to my recollection unity was pretty unbreakable like that
The reason for so many modes for Arcade is that you have 3 different ways to do the run. Any% which will basically be novice difficulty with 1 round, standard % which will be normal difficulty with 2 rounds and Max which is the standard Arcade runs that originally existed. Similar thing for Konquest, as you have it glitchless and with glitches, as well has any difficulty and max difficulty.
DWednesday also is removing load times so we can put all platforms into the same leaderboard, as opposed to a different console and if it's emulator or the actual console.
I hope this helps explain it all a little better. I tried to keep it as basic of English that I could, but with a subject like speedrunning, simple things don't really exist
I feel this would be really helpful for those with messed up disks that have slower load times, as well as those who don't want to spend hours upon hours getting better at the game to learn times to use breakers, and which combos to use and when. It just lowers the skill ceiling that later MK games like MK11 don't have
I feel like this could be in some cases (in particular with Ashrah's training) you can bait her to hit you whilst performing the spiking projectile to skip it if need be. It could also be potentially useful during Scorpion training with the Hellfire special if need be as well. It can very well be useful with tricky specials that the AI just does not like to be hit by during the parts of training when they move around during the special moves portion
Idk. It deserves a place on the leaderboards as it's peak speedrunning content
For an IL you can use IGT, but if you're doing entire chapters you need a time as in between stages counts in that category
While playing (and watching) Konquest, I notice that sometimes after messing up a long combo or a special move, if you use the ending button normally and strike the AI, it completes the combo/special and moves onto the next attack.
What I am wondering is if there is a way to manipulate the game into doing this, or if it is just completely random
