Hi guys, I'm back with an update, with a few changes. One we have a discord now that I just made minutes ago of when I was typing this up, hang out there so we can stop using the sites messaging system. Second, all IL runs must have the end screen when you get a PB, so that there is proof that it saved to your emulator or cartridge. Lastly, this will be the place I will show updates to the community to show official rulings/updates. Like recently, that we decided that downhill will be a category, just be careful with it, because it will save the downhill time as the best time.

I was just wondering if you guys would allow that version on this leaderboard.

If people don't know you can unlock the original excitebike on Excitebike 64 by completing the tutorial mode.

2:36.46, got the world record on cyberscore. Also I was wrong about the lag spikes, at least after the big jump, it's actually gravel spots you will need to wheelie over. My dumbass thought it was lag to the game not realizing your at the landing section, and it had to load you in.

The run:

Honestly, you're not doing anything the game wasn't intending you to do, you just passed a barrier. I see it as Marine Fortress on Wave Race 64. In that game you can get passed an iron gate by diving under it on the first lap when it wasn't intended, but it still goes up on the second lap. You don't go out of bounds, you don't do something that wasn't intended, so I think the category will stand. One thing I will note is that you can go a little bit left at the beginning and dodge the two jumps at the beginning and ride the flat area. Getting close to another run that I can show this off.

Got a run to show you guys, i got it on the left, its also possible on the right. Honestly I think the run is crap, multiple lag spikes in the run (not in recording) when you do the run you'll see the moment for yourself.

It's possible, testing right now, will make a gif of it when I can get it without faulting

Yeah Dj-Cat hit it on the head, we did have some people interested, but it would be awhile before the runs can get verified. The other thing was that the IL leaderboards didn't make sense, so we fixed that. You can find what we are planning on doing in the New moderator thread.

Hello, so to answer you're two questions:

1. I do not know, I only played this on gamecube, and i do want to see if there was any differences.

2. Honestly there isn't a limit I can see yet, because in the current world record, the time was set before two major skips were found, those are the Kaz skip, and the loop skip. Kaz skip was found a by a streamer who found that if you are in freekout mode on burn it up, and are at the 3 turn section near the end, you can just go straight up a rock wall and save some time doing that. The loop skip was found by me on Gnome Sweet Gnome, at the beginning after the start, you can jump to the left, either missing or going around the billboard to land on the other side then going backwards to jump out of bounds and getting spawned back on the tack you just jumped off. In total I think the skip saves about 2-3 minutes, and I still have some cleaning up on the other 4 tracks so I think I can get it close to 34 minutes.

Hello, I am one of the new moderators for Excitebike 64, and I’m thankful that Leopold67 made me a moderator, the same goes with him doing so for Andou88, glad he also made him a moderator. I wanted to use this forum to discuss, and tell you what my plans are for the community. Some of the changes already went into effect, but I will talk to the moderators before we make a big change. Let’s start with,

Fixing Individual Level leaderboards.

So if you have already seen, I fixed the IL leaderboards. Before, erru9107 made the leaderboard, but they didn’t really fit on what IL leaderboards are supposed to be, so I changed it, going from “Bronze ILs” to Best Race Time and Best Lap Time. Each course is to be done on the default lap settings, all extra courses that were added (Kyoto (Challenge)) were deleted as they were just a 1 lap version of the track. I also added the special tracks (Excitebike 3D, Uphill, and Desert). Desert and Uphill you do not have to worry about a lap time, just focus on the race time. As of right now, the downhill cheat will not have a leaderboard, and any run submitted using that cheat will get rejected. My ideas would only be to see if people are interested in a downhill leaderboard.

Old runs.

If you had an old run that was waiting to get verified that you deleted, please let us know, and resubmit that time. I mostly made this section because of Meauxdal’s forum post, as I do think it was a little harsh the way he was talking about the mods, now that we have the moderators to verify sooner, I will privately message him if he wants that run verified. Again, if you are waiting on a run for a couple days to get verified, let us know.

Cyberscore

This next section is for another leaderboard that has Excitebike 64. Cyberscore.uk has some times getting submitted on there, but they do not enforce video proof. My idea was to cross all of the times from there to get a better understanding on what the leaderboards look like. This idea is up to the other moderators and the community if they would want this, I would be happy either way.

Video Proof

This is something I want to address, personally for me, I think a less strict rule on video proof would be better as most people don’t think to record their times, or don’t have a good recording device for those runs. This is something I will discuss with Andou to see what he thinks, at least making it a “Top 3 runs must have video proof” something along those lines.

So RTA is Real Time Attack, and IGT is In-Game Time. For example, most games that are speedrun will go off Real Time, to account for load times, but other games, like Mike Tyson's Punch Out, and 2D Sonic games will go based on the in game timer.

Yeah I wondering that too. My thinking is that erru9107 looked at the courses by cups rather than by time trial, and did not do it by 3 lap/ 1 lap, we can now message either leopold or erru to fix the IL leaderboards. Hill Climb and 3D Excitbike I do have times for, but I think we need to put a special rule for Hill climb to not use the cheat to make it downhill rather than uphill. Looking forward to battle you in some of the courses!

When the end of the year came around, me and Doctor Feesh both worked on the year end review. One thing I found really annoying was trying to find the days each time was hit, so I was bored and decided to make a PowerPoint/slideshow to elaborate on the months on each pb when it was hit in that month (starting with Janurary 2019). I will be doing for each month as time goes on. Couple things before you go looking at these. 1. I will link them, but will not let anyone have editing rights (hopefully I get the link right/let me know if they do not work). 2. These times were when they were a.) uploaded to Youtube, b.) Submitted on the leaderboards, or c.) If I see them live. 3. I have made a graph comparing each month to see which months were the most active, they will be at the end of the Power-points and will have them up to date to that month with each slide.

Can we fix the leaderboard so there is difficulty like Veteran in Spec Ops? Just a little more variety.
